I suspect it has something to do with the Media arm of the DNC doing THIS to Senators on LIVE TELEVISION.

Their narrative that it was a Trump Shutdown, despite the best efforts of the idiot leftwits on Twitter and elsewhere, wasn’t playing in thinking America.

  14. This was round one, where the opponents threw a few punches to see if the other can do the distance.

    Mark my words, they fully intend to get DACA (800,000) while giving as little as possible then they’re going to swing for the fences for DAPA for the parents and relatives here illegally. The rest of the dreamers for 3.7 million. Then wave good-bye to CA and the SW. Maybe we’ll be able to hang on to Texas, but they’re working hard to flip it.

  15. Here in DC on “Day 3” all the Smithsonian’s are open. I’m in one now.
    The Mall, the outdoor WW2 Memorial, all open. Park rangers are visible. Secretary Zinke was reportedly out personally welcoming visitors over the weekend.
    Only sign of “shutdown” so far is some of the outdoor Mall public restrooms are closed.

    Quite a contrast with the intentional premeditated Chaos of the Obama 2013 Punitive Shutdown.

    Looks like Schumer is caving.
    Shmuck.

    Democrats always push too hard and too far. Now, no matter what, they will have this pointless shutdown hanging around their neck like a millstone.

    Trump won the messaging war. A first for a Republican.

  18. Had a nice dinner with longtime Lefty Dem friends last night. Quite a change in their attitude towards PDT after one year.
    They now concede he’s been great for the stock market (doh) and their investments.
    The tax cuts will benefit them also. They concede grudgingly that PDT has been good for the US economy, and that Saint Obama in retrospect was not so great for either the economy or foreign policy. (They still love Obama and keep inventing new excuses for him).
    They still despise the GOP but have reluctantly concluded that just maybe, Trump is not “literally” Hitler after all.
    And for the first time, the Dem wife ventured the notion that just possibly Chain Migration “needs to have some limits” because “you just can’t let everyone bring in their whole village with them”.
    Wow.

    Progress.
    Oh and although they think Trump’s tweets are “unpresidential”, their careers require them to read them to stay informed.
    So PDT is reaching them directly and unfiltered, no matter what spin MSNBC puts on it later that evening.

  19. The rinos cant stand Trump repeatedly proving the rats can be outsmarted and out maneuvered. This shatters their past history of excuses for surrendering on every fight before they ever even began. Now the rinos fear a precedent has been set for actually doing things. They were used to a winning strategy of just making promises and ending it there.

    A pal of mine at the EPA was told Friday afternoon that everyone in the office was to report for work today at their regular times.

    Is suspect this “Shutdown” was another act of Kabuki Theatre in Washington, DC.
