Yes, it’s like something out of a dystopian ‘hunger games’ movie, except it is unfortunately real life. ITV News in Great Britain is running a wheel-of-fortune type marketing campaign where desperate viewers can call in for an opportunity to spin the wheel and win having their energy bills paid.
Comrades, it is not a spoof, this actually took place today and it looks like it will continue due to popular demand. UK citizens are facing astronomical increases in energy bills as a result of the EU green climate change agenda in combination with Russia halting the export of natural gas. The price of natural gas increased 30% today alone as Russia cuts off supplies completely. Europe is on the brink of the worst economic recession in history. More
Nor everyone wins at The Wheel of Mis-Fortune!
Edit: Not everyone wins…
It was political decisions, without ‘subject’ input that caused this.
The pain really needs to be shared with the ones that made the decisions that resulted in this outcome. It’s called accountability, and at one time was quite common. We did better back then.
2022 is seemingly worse than the previous 2 years. My take is that 2020-21 was government taking control of its citizens, who since it was a new thing went along for a while (varying levels of course). But with covid essentially over, the governments’ attempts to force citizens to their will is rather more transparent and they are pushing back. Seems like a Hail Mary play from many governments, particularly in the supposed first-world countries, from Australia to Canada to Poland. But a lot of people are going to die this year because of governments’ attempts to control, particularly via freezing and starvation but the Ukraine conflict as well, and uprisings will likely result in deaths. All so a few elites can take global control. Which will fail, but I see a miserable year or two before we return to capitalism (and fossil fuels), hopefully an improved version.
The BIGGEST problem with ‘leaders’ that want to lord over US is that they NEVER, get to experience what the ‘lower class’ has to go through.
I’d like to solve the puzzle.
It’s their new world order.
Turn out the lights … the party’s ooooooooovvvvvveeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr …
Bye, England! You had a good run, but you’ve let yourself be “led” by greedy, diabolic narcissists who don’t have your interests at heart.
“Good bye, so long, Auf wiedersehen, farewell!”

Left Coast Dan: “Seems like a Hail Mary play from many governments, particularly in the supposed first-world countries, from Australia to Canada” So true. Can only speak re Canada (having escaped from there in March) where we were treated as second class citizens, not being “allowed” to enter restaurants, sporting facilities, concerts, plays, art galleries, hospitals (visit or accompany)etc. Trudope annoubced YESTERDAY that the same restrictions would be reintroduced this winter if the “booster” uptake (3rd/4th/5th shot) didn’t reach 85% to 90% of the population. So glad to be out of there. Forever.
It vaguely reminds me of the movie Americathon.
I turned twenty-one in England shivering my ass off for Uncle Sam. (Apologies to Johnny Cash) I’m here to tell you winter is a cold SOB over there. Actually, I heated my home with two fireplaces using coal and wood. I had never seen a piece of coal before that, but I learned to respect coal for it’s ability to produce large amounts of BTU’s. Coal was cheap enough back in ’74 and I burned plenty of it without concern for the price. Even though I was a low-ranking GI, I was paid much better than most working-class Blokes, so I didn’t have to worry about the price. This Texas boy wasn’t going to freeze his ass off at home. The Blokes in my village weren’t quite so lucky as they were forced to use coal sparingly. The coalman stopped by every other Wednesday to see how much he needed to bring the following Friday, so I wouldn’t run out. Those poor limey bastards are going to freeze their nuts off this Winter. They deserve it!
So is Biden’s plan to make Europe worse off than the US, so he looks better?
What’s important is it that the little people are being green while they’re freezing to death.s/
PS, and blue.
