Today (still Friday here) is the anniversary of the start of the Wounded Knee occupation. Little Feather was given a script by Brando and Russell Means that she was supposed to read when she accepted Brando’s award. But she was told there that she would be arrested or escorted off the stage if she tried to read it. I’m pretty sure the script had to do with the Wounded Knee occupation by the Oglala Lakota.
So she had to wind it with some ad lib crap about Native American actors instead; they were cool with that.

charliewalksonwater, they are just near Porcupine. They have a Non-evangelical mission and don’t do any proselytizing. They are just there to give a hand up, help fix what is broken. I can’t think of the Lakota word for that, but there is a word for giving a hand up, and that is what the ministry is based upon.
I almost moved to Spearfish a few years back. Had some surgical problems that kept me from moving. The lady at the chamber of commerce was very helpful and nice.
Beautiful country up there. But I don’t feel so welcome in the Black Hills. I think the Lakota should have everything that is listed in their legal deed and title from 1868 that the U.S. government screwed them out of.
