Knox County, Tenn., Bans Communion,
Hymnals — and Even Bibles — at Church
PJ Media – One of the things we’re beginning to see as states move toward “reopening” is elected officials and health directors mandating even more stringent precautions than had existed in prior orders. In Ohio, for example, Gov. Mike DeWine announced last week a plan to reopen the state, even while ordering restaurants, stores, and their customers to wear masks — something that wasn’t required under his previous shutdown order.
It’s even worse in Knox County, Tenn., where the health department just announced that while churches may reopen on May 1, the Lord’s Supper is forbidden.
The order was announced by Knox County Health Department Regional Hospital Coordinator Charity Menefee, who announced that Communion is not part of “core worship.”
“Congress shall make no law…” Neither shall tin pot dictator mayors and governors. Jail and disgrace for those that try.

I don’t know if its who they think they are or testing the waters to find out who we’ll let them be. I’m disappointed to find out how many are willing to just sit back and take this crap. Sad.

Politicians, bureaucrats, and atheists are setting rules for citizens, entrepreneurs, and believers. They have no clue what it takes for us to vote for, pay for, and pray for them.
They have reduced us to statistics and ‘non-essential’ workers and now they want to outlaw the Lord Jesus Christ as a ‘communal snack,’ unavailable in Phase One of their carefully choreographed reopening of our little lives?
In most states, the government can regulate secular aspects of churches. However, doctrinal matters are strictly hands off and not permitted under the First Amendment. In other words, a municipal government may impose parking lot requirements for churches, but cannot dictate how or when religious practices such as communion or baptism are practiced.
Virtually every church is concerned about the health and safety of its congregation. When I was young, a common cup was frequently used for communion wine – the practice has disappeared from many churches for sanitary reasons. Even before our state’s formal lockdown and social distancing mandates, our pastor recommended not shaking hands, spreading out, and the collection plates were replaced with a donation box in the narthex. None of this affected doctrine, but were recommended for the safety of the members – many of whom were elderly.
This pandemic power has gone to the heads of too many politicians. I have no problem with medical experts making recommendations on how churches can make their premises safer, but to dictate certain practices is beyond the pale.
NY Governor Cuomo said it best: “It’s voluntary. If 19 million people want to go outside, we can’t stop them.”
MAKE these traitors arrest you. Demand a jury trial. NO SETTLEMENTS. Get a jury decision and turn around and sue the public servants and or file criminal charges.
MAKE these traitors handle thousands of court hearings.

I just read on FB another university town in Oklahoma loves power. This time Stillwater(OSU), yeah they could shut it down as well and I would be fine with that.
They finally broke and agreed to slowly open the town back up, but with new regulations. All those over 65 must stay home. All those allowed to leave their house must wear a mask. No gatherings of more than 10 people anywhere. A restaurant or grocery store can have more than 10 as long as they’re 6 feet apart, but you can’t wait in line at a restaurant with more than 10 people. $500 fine and the police will first try to educate you before they have to fine you.
What the hell is up with all this education talk all these police departments and cities are spouting now? I hear elected dumbasses and police departments say educate and I hear, “reeducation camps.”

The officers of the state are all powerful in their acolytes eyes and progressive politicians take it to the next level. In their estimation they are gods. Or to borrow from the immortal words of Thomas Jefferson: They actually believe that the mass of mankind has been born with saddles on their backs, and they, the favored few have been placed here all booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately.
They have turned Rex Lex on its head and in the progressive world what ever the rulers decree has legitimacy. It supersedes what has been the law up until then. What ever they decree.
This is not that hard folks. The of the actors in this farce’s behavior pretty much tells the story.

Wrong! If we had a legitimate Pope this would not be happening. This Bergoglio fruitcake has already identified himself as not only illegitimate. Bergoglio has, through many of his acts, identified himself as an agent of the devil in hell. Bergoglio is the anti-Pope sent here to destroy The Church.
Progressives don’t only strive to increase innocent human suffering, misery and death here on earth. Nope, it doesn’t end there. Which would be bad enough, their ultimate goal is to condemn as many souls as possible to eternal death.

…you know, I was raised in the Church during the reforms of Vatican II, and that’s ONE of the reasons that I fell out with the Church, some of John’s reformations broke CENTURIES of tradition and even to my young mind, seemed to be pandering to the world more than praising God.
Anyone who was ever subjected to a ’70’s “Guitar Mass” will know EXACTLY what I’m talking about, and that’s just ONE example…
…anyway, I think they never should have gotten AWAY from the Latin mass, it encoraged some things, like learning Latin, and once you’ve learned Latin, you can beat anyone who hasn’t at Dominoes Vobiscum! (Old Catechism joke, sorry, couldn’t resist) 😉
…seriously, though, that ALSO solved the problem of do you have Mass in Spanish, French, Chinese, or what have you to be inclusive, since it’s ALL Latin, ALL the time. And it preserves the Mystery, too.
…of course, I have other issues with modern Catholicism, like glorifying a man in general and “Francis” in PARTICULAR, plus my Catholic Preist back in the day DISCOURAGED actual reading of the Bible, said HE’D tell us what we need while what I need is to find the Lord in His Word MYSELF, but I’m not here to divide the Fathful, nail the 95 Theses anew, or to eat a Diet of Worms (heh, a “reformist” joke, sorry again), but to thank you for your invite, although since I’m not CURRENTLY allowed to leave Ohio, so Idaho seems a bit of a strech right now, but one never knows where life will lead…
