US President Donald Trump on Friday (Dec 6) called for the World Bank to stop lending money to China, one day after the institution adopted a loan plan to Beijing over Washington’s objections.

The World Bank on Thursday adopted a plan to aid China with US$1 billion to US$1.5 billion in low-interest loans annually through June 2025. The plan calls for lending to “gradually decline” from the previous five-year average of US$1.8 billion. More

  1. China has been receiving special treatment in a number of areas for years. Remember the Paris (I think it was Paris) climate accords? India and China were allowed out of the carbon emission elimination goals for a number of years and then given very easy targets because they were developing nations. India perhaps but China has risen to one of the two Global Economic powerhouses precisely because they simply ignore pollution issues and pump hundreds of thousands of tons of crap into the air, ground a sea daily (if not hourly) allowing their production cost an unbeatable edge. The World Bank ought to “graduate” them immediately into normal member status and stop any special treatment they’ve been getting.
