  20. Most Cable companies don’t go into the inner city. This leaves the hood rats with the choice of Satellite TV or Broadcast TV (antenna tv – not the network). This means that a large segment of the Big Three demographics are… you guessed it…
    When it comes to cable, the rest of the Networks are quickly being left in the dust by OTT (Over The Top) streaming programming, which is fast becoming IPTV on demand programming – leaving the Broadcast Networks to the rest of the demos. This may be some of the explanation to why the NFL is catering to a specific demo. It also may help explain why we see so much of that demo in advertising.

Joe 6, Richard Sherman whom I used to admire has gone over the deep end now with being arrested and drunk and disorderly etc. I wonder will he lose his endorsements for RV dealerships as a result of this. I could care less about the NFL now and won’t watch or even pay attention to it anymore. Baseball so far hasn’t gone totally over the deep end yet but if they do it’s over for me.

  31. Since most of you don’t watch the NFL anyway, a public declaration that you can going to continue the same behavior and not watch really doesn’t mean much.

    The last few years has been an exercise in tolerance for me, someone who does watch as I do most sports on TV. Colin Kaepernick was in my face specifically because he played for my home team, then it caught on nationally. The kneeling, the raised fists, the BLM slogans on the jerseys and on the field, to now where they don’t even broadcast the national anthem at games, each line drawn in the sand makes me re evaluate my participation. This just might do it for me.

    As an aside, last week they just wrapped up the Eurocup, a huge soccer event. I watched about 12 games. Before each match they play the national anthem of both teams competing. The contrasts of how both the players and the fans in the stands, how they revere their national anthem, hands over their heart, boisterously singing each word, exuding patriotism and love of country, to what we have here in the states, the animus for our flag and the symbols of our heritage, like night and day.

The capitalist in me wants to think that the NFL is a business, that both the commissioner and the owners have eyes (and wallets) and can clearly see for themselves the diminishing returns year after year, the actual costs of bowing to the woke mob and alienating a large segment of the fan base. But then reality hits me, that the tail wags the dog, that putting a value added superior product on the field is not the goal. The lunatics now run the asylum, they demand abject fealty to the culture of woke politics, all else including making money is subservient to those ends.

  48. I quit the NFL in the 80’s when they started allowing the black players to stage their faggy-assed dance routines in the end zone after touchdowns. I know the NFL thought it would have entertainment value for the fans, but it was just too much for me. I usually spend Super Bowl Sunday at the gun range having fun.
