This is hardly news for the NYFD. Even though 57% of woman can pass the test they are not applying in high enough numbers to allow for diversity. The last woman they gave a pass to could not complete the 1 1/2 mile run w/o gear in 12 minutes. She tried it 5 times but her foot was sore.
Plus lets not forget minority males who could not pass the written test. They were given a pass in court as long as they were able to score 25%.
Make sure if you live and work in in NYC it’s in a building with automatic sprinklers.
