Yellowbrick Schoolhouse – IOTW Report

Yellowbrick Schoolhouse

Calling this a “rehab” is a misnomer. That would imply that you had ability at some point. Apparently these enrollees lacked any life skills at any point in their lives.

Calling it Yellowbrick, however, is spot on. Yellowbrick sounds like gold brick. Gold brick is a term for something worthless, or a person who is lazy.

For $28,000 a month, patients will get basic life skills in scheduling, cleaning and even ‘showing up.’ Therapy, art classes and yoga are also available at the rehab center for over-privileged 20-somethings.

Yellowbrick, in Evanston, Illinois, was founded ten years ago to specifically treat ’emerging adult’ brains, millennials who had ‘failed to launch’ from their parents.

Patients come to Yellowbrick with a variety of problems such as anxiety, depression, substance abuse, eating disorders, or even schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Many of those disorders are linked, or made worse, by sufferers being forced to take their first steps in the adult world.

  1. Hoping no tax dollars support this.

This is all about milking the ObamaCare mental health and substance abuse benefits. Noticed all the sleazy drug treatment center commercials since ObamaCare came on line?

All Marketplace plans cover mental health and substance abuse services as essential health benefits.

Marketplace plans can’t deny you coverage or charge you more just because you have any pre-existing condition, including mental health and substance use disorder conditions.
Coverage for treatment of all pre-existing conditions begins the day your coverage starts.
Marketplace plans can’t put yearly or lifetime dollar limits on coverage of any essential health benefit, including mental health and substance use disorder services.

  2. TO MMF:

From the article: “Health insurance often won’t cover the treatment…”
So, there’s that going for it (the stupid-but-rich parents pay through the nose)

  3. Parolees are a target rich environment for people like this. Brushing your teeth, washing hands after taking a dump (sing the Happy Birthday song gives an example of how long you need to make soapy soapy bubbles with your hands), washing clothes, not screwing your sister… all are appropriate areas of instruction.

  4. My oldest one is having a difficult time understanding his existence. I’ve been on his ass for years about the stupid video games, poor grades, ignorance of rules and all around shitty attitude.

He should have had his driver’s license a year ago, I even have a vehicle available for him. What does he ask for for his mid-December birthday and/or Christmas? A fucking video game console!

    Really?

Wake up son! You’re about to be an 18 year old, no home, carrying a game console loser!
