MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Eleven people were arrested for prostitution-related charges Wednesday in Myrtle Beach, according to online records.

Offenders were contacted by undercover officers, entered undercover vehicles, and agreed to sexual activity for prices ranging from $20 to $200, the reports state.

May I guess who the $20 hooker is? And she’s overpriced by about $20. In fact, she would have to have me at gunpoint. -bfh

Lt. Joey Crosby with the Myrtle Beach Police Department says while it’s a larger number of arrests, right now the department’s investigation does not indicate the arrests are connected.

“This time our investigation doesn’t reveal there’s any ring or organization and that’s something that of course we look at as we conduct these kinds of investigations.  But at this time, our intelligence is showing us that it’s not,” he said.

However, Lt. Crosby says the department does take these crimes seriously.

“The perception is, prostitution is a victimless crime and that couldn’t be farthest from the truth… it’s not, it’s a quality of life issue for those neighbors living in that neighborhood – in which they want to see this matter addressed,” he explained.

  1. When I was in the service I walked into a clothing store and all the sales guys were looking out the window checking out a hooker on the corner and laughing out loud.
    What’s so funny?
She had a baby on Thursday and she was back out on Saturday.
    Sad.

  2. I can’t even muster a joke. That’s just sad. Maybe she was somebody’s young daughter who at one point had such hope for her future or maybe she came from circumstances where she never had a chance. Either way, her drug abuse will only end in jail, disease or death. I hope she can find her way to break free of those chains.

  3. This is really sad. Harsh penalties for drug dealers. Some people get addicted, and will do anything just to serve the addiction. I just can’t think of any up side to drugs.
