Alabama homeowner John Croft had been targeted by robbers thirteen times since last summer. That streak ended Wednesday night when an armed young thief confronted Croft and his legal firearm in his own bedroom. The robber managed to get a shot off himself, wounding Croft in the ankle.
They left him no choice. And still he feels bad for Dindu’s Momma….
Mr. Croft sounds like a very decent man. How unfortunate that he was in those circumstances. I wonder after the first two or three invasions why he didn’t get out of there.

Mr Croft is the kind of neighbor you want to have living next door on your street.
He can feel bad for taking a life, but it was not his fault and it isn’t his problem. You should feel sorry for no one but yourself because you got put in that position. Screw that kid’s family, his friends, etc. If they gave two shits about the dindunuffum, they’d have kept his ass on the straight and narrow. Thank you for those who post these types of stories in the Bullpen. Whether self defense happens with a gun or a frying pan, these people should be proud of themselves and we should acknowledge them for it will help someone else.
My only question is why he waited so long to use his firearm. If he had done this earlier, the string of home invasions would have stopped.
