29-year-old woman charged after allegedly posing as a student at high school

ABC: A 29-year-old New Jersey woman fraudulently posed as a high school student for several days after allegedly filing false documents, school officials and police said.

The incident was announced during a New Brunswick School Board meeting Tuesday night.

The woman attended New Brunswick High School for four days last week before staff uncovered the “ruse,” New Brunswick Public Schools Superintendent Aubrey Johnson said during the meeting. She was barred from district property and “all the appropriate authorities were immediately notified,” Johnson said.

“This is an unfortunate event,” he said.

The New Brunswick Police Department said Hyejeong Shin, of New Brunswick, was charged on Tuesday with one count of providing a false government document with the intent to verify one’s identity or age. more

  1. I took typing in summer school between the 7th and 8th grades. That was at a junior/senior high school. One day during a break the teacher was talking to one of the other students. When the student said that she was 25 the teacher almost fell over.

She continued in the class with no problem.

  2. I don’t get it. If someone bizarrely claims to be the other gender, schools will cater to him/her. By comparison, claiming to be a younger by a six years or so is small potatoes.

  3. @Rickey G, I found some photos. One was 6 yrs aco and she really didn’t look like a HS girl. Another, though a bit blurry made her look passable.

An unsuccesful attempt at being a human trafficking lure?
