Nuns Sue Strip Club in Chicago

Nuns suing strip club, located next door to the nunnery? Forget it Jake, its Chitown.

Chicago Tribune-

Robert Itzkow, a former owner of the club and now one of its lawyers, said the dancing in the club is legal and does not count as prostitution. “Lap dancing is not prostitution,” he said. “Women dance slowly with the customer … and they certainly come in contact with each other’s crotches. And they have a license for that.”

In a revised lawsuit filed this month, the Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo, and other plaintiffs, allege that overwhelming evidence of prostitution and drug use should force the closure of Club Allure in Stone Park.

The nuns’ convent straddlesthe border of Melrose Park and Stone Park within feet of the club at 3801 W. Lake St. The nuns, along with three residents who live nearby and the village of Melrose Park, first sued club owners nearly two years ago. They claimed the club’s existence near a residential area violated zoning law, and noises and signs from the club were a nuisance. They later amended their complaint to include allegations of prostitution.

  1. this is a waste of time. A few years ago a porno store wanted to open in the town where I live. The uptight overly religious people in the area nearly rioted.

The proper thing for the nuns to do is to shut the club down by getting all the girls and patrons saved and delivered so no-one works there nor goes in.

Suing them just makes an adversary, you never saw Jesus do that. Jesus would walk in and hang out all day and deliver the whole place. The religious people would be talking about HIM and how he hangs out with strippers, not what he accomplished by making ex-strippers.

  2. BTW my theory on the porno store backlash is because all the uptight religious people want the porno stores all to be 30 miles from town so that no-one they know recognizes their car parked out front.

  3. Sorry, I couldn’t get past the name “Missionary Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo.” That’s kind of a porn sounding name in the first place.

Besides, if Jesus came to Chicago, He would probably be hanging around the strip club. Jesus didn’t usually consort with the upright religious crowd, He hung with with people like me who need to hear His message. Whenever two or more are gathered in His name, God is present – but Jesus is slumming it with my crowd because we need it. Look at the bright side, Missionary Sisters, you don’t have far to travel to do your work.
