Allahu Akbar is the “Fuggetaboutit” of Islam – IOTW Report

Allahu Akbar is the “Fuggetaboutit” of Islam

Robert Spencer wrote a piece about how the MSM continually mangles the meaning of Allahu akbar, which is quite a feat considering how many ways Muslims use the phrase.

Never does it mean “God is Great,” which is the preferred anglo-safe, deceptive translation amongst pointy-headed know-nothing leftist writers. Allahu akbar is actually translated to English as “Allah is Greater.” This is far different from “great,” and reveals the lie that Islam is the “religion of peace.” You can coexist with Islam, under their sandal and scimitar.

“Greater” is intentionally offensive. “Your God is shaded by our God, infidels. Never forget it, or you will die.”

Muslims also believe Allah has domain over everything, so they will, naturally, use “Allahu akbar” in a variety of ways.

Spencer, entertainingly, uses a video of Muslims experimenting with a rocket launcher to illustrate his point.

As the rocket begins to ignite, and then launches, only to travel a couple of feet and explode in their own compound, the watching jihadis shout “Allahu akbar!” repeatedly, like characters in Orwell’s 1984 book who are restricted by Newspeak to think only thoughts that can be expressed by a few permitted words.

First come the fervent “Please-make-it-work” “Allahu akbars,” and then the excited “Wow-its-working!” “Allahu akbars,” followed by, as the rocket fails, the resigned “Too bad” “Allahu akbars,” the apologetic “We’re-sorry-please-forgive-us” and the reassuring “Allah still is on our team” “Allahu akbars.”

This passage immediately made me think of the scene in Donnie Brasco when he was asked to explain the mafia’s use of the phrase “fuggetaboutit.”

Allahu akbar versus Fuggetaboutit.

One group is an organized international body of criminals that use extortion and other means of pressurized and violent coercion to exact their influence on the world.

The other is a group of Italians.

  1. You’re covering a lot of ground here. Allah is self explanatory. Akbar is a Muzzie general that supposedly had LOTS of victories. Akbar became known as the great. Allah Snackbar. But think about this, Akbar was way way past Mohamed, rather current in comparison. WTF?

  2. Fox News gets it wrong every time unless Spencer is there to correct them.

In a post a day ago I think it was Tim (?) who mentioned we should use the term moslem and not muslim. Moslem is the term I remember from the ’60’s and ’70’s.
    I looked it up here

Whereas for most English speakers, the two words are synonymous in meaning, the Arabic roots of the two words are very different. A Muslim in Arabic means”one who gives himself to God,” and is by definition, someone who adheres to Islam. By contrast, a Moslem in Arabic means”one who is evil and unjust” when the word is pronounced, as it is in English, Mozlem with a z.

From now on it’s Moslem unless it’s Mooslime. No more Muslim.

    Lan astaslem!

  3. I’m not an Arabic speaker, but I remember reading somewhere that Arabic uses the same word for “great” and “large”. In English, it’s two words with slightly different meanings, but in Arabic it’s just one word for both.

Which would mean we’re talking about a group of men who get on all fours, put their heads on the floor and asses in the air, and start chanting about how large God is.

Is it just me, or does that sound like the start of a really low-budget porno?

  4. Better, is the term “Mohammedan”.
    It offends them.
They say they do not worship Mohammed.
    Nor do they worship God.
Allah was an ancient Arabian moon god.
The Arabs are so screwed up, they are the only pagans in the world who regarded the moon as a masculine figure.
