In order to avoid more serious federal charges and jail time, John Steele, one of the senior members of Prenda Law has plead guilt to “conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, and conspiracy to launder money.”
Mr. Steele is expected get 8 to 10 years, and to testify against his law partner Paul Hansmeier, who denies any wrong doing.
You’ll remember Prenda Law– they went around putting out honey traps for porn watchers and then threatened to expose them if they didn’t pay up on their bogus copyright claims.
They’ve admitted to making $6 million on the blackmail scheme.
i would think a pretty face like that could live well in prison.
I can think of some other scam lawyers who should be in jail.
I won’t mention names but their initials are Hillary Clinton and Barrak Obama.
