Nolte: You Can Fire Fox News by Killing Your Cable Package

Breitbart:

Long before it became a phenomenon, Breitbart News was covering the phenomenon of cord-cutting. Years before the patriotic act of canceling your cable or satellite television package was a thing, Breitbart news was right here laying out all reasons to do exactly that.

Those of you holding out, those of you still paying way too much for subscription TV, those of you still lining the pockets of multi-national corporations who want to see everything you believe in exterminated, have essentially offered up two objections to avoid doing your patriotic duty:

Football and Fox News.

But if I cut my cable, you cried, I won’t be able to watch football or Fox News.

Although I have never been a football or Fox News fan, I let the above excuse go. This is, after all, a free country, and if you want to get gouged by a handful of evil corporations while subsidizing Hate Outlets like CNN, that is your choice as an American — a bad American, but an American nonetheless.

But what in the world is stopping you now?

How many knees do those overpaid, ungrateful NFL crybabies get to take before you stop playing the role of the sucker, before you stop subsidizing hatred of our country and serial lies about law enforcement?

And how many times does Fox News get to spit in your face before you say enough?

Yes, there are some good people at Fox News doing some brave and honorable reporting and commentary. No question. And it is unfortunate they are part of an organization that grows more reprehensible by the day, but come on…

Biases up front… I have never been a big Fox News fan. My original prejudice, however, was based on my initial disgust with the overall cable news format, which is to ruin your day with nonsense outrage.  Honestly, when you’re walking around angry all day because some bureaucrat in Dumbassqua, Ohio, won’t allow some retiree to paint his house trailer red, white, and blue — seriously, come on. Cable news is dumb.

But at least in those days, Fox News was still Fox News — a rebel, a loner, a badass totally in touch with Real America. At least in those days, Fox News was on our side, was a proudly belligerent finger in the eye of the establishment media. So, yeah, that was worth something, maybe even worth $150 a month cable bill. But now?

Now…?

Wake up, y’all…  What you are now paying for is to watch the slow-motion suicide of Fox News as it sells you out and hopes you don’t notice. What you are now paying for is being the sucker who stands by your Fox Man as he openly cheats on you with a sleazy creep like Jim Acosta.

This is Fox News today:

  • Called the U.S. House of Representatives race for the Democrats 90 minutes before polls closed in California, which might have cost the Republicans a number of close House seats.
  • Backed CNN’s lawsuit against President Trump to reinstate a press pass for heckler Jim Acosta.
  • Buckled to emotional blackmail from CNN and others and stopped airing Trump’s perfectly acceptable ad about the dangers of illegal immigration.
  • Offered a platform to Jorge Ramos, a left-wing propagandist and open borders extremist.
  • Mocked an actor for working a real job.
  • Spread the fake news that Senate Judiciary Committee testimony from Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford was “exceptionally credible” — when the truth is that Ford’s testimony and documentation were riddled with contradictionsand falsehoods.
  • Attacked Breitbart News after we uncovered smoking gun audio about Google’s election meddling. KEEP READING

  1. Why do we allow media providers to tell us what we have to pay for? I.E., cable and satellite. If you get an oil change for your car you can say no to new windshield wipers or a transmission flush. You don’t have to buy the meal suggestion at the drive through.

But these assholes tell you what you’re going to buy in chunks. Want Fox? Well, you’re going to get CNN, ABC, MSNBC and about a million shopping channels.

Just try paying for exactly the channel lineup you actually want.

    Not going to happen.

This is a racket and it needs busting up by federal oversight.

  2. I canceled cable years ago. Haven’t missed it. I get enough nonsensical outrage news online. I don’t have to pay the legacy media to pipeline propaganda into my house. But that’s not the real reason I canceled. The real reason was the commercials. It doesn’t matter what station you’re watching commercials are the true evil. You know what my kids don’t do? They never say “I want that.” “can I have that?” Never.

    Winner.

  3. I have cable…but don’t watch news or football anymore.

I do watch AMC, TCM, A&E, Nat Geo, INSP, MeTV, FX, local weather, (gotta keep an eye on the tornadoes)…etc. If I cut cable, I lose access to those.

I would love to be able to pick and choose from a menu, but can’t. I had DirecTV before they had built in DVRs. Hated it.

So…I guess I’ll continue keep contributing and being an evil man….according to Breitbart.

  4. I still have Dish and I don’t watch anything, beats me why I still have it. I guess it’s for company, just in case someone comes over and wants to watch teevee instead of listening to me.

Yeah….commercials are obnoxious and suck. I try to hit the mute button, but some escape. If anything…commercials make me not buy their stuff. I will never by Liberty Mutual or a MyPillow…never.

Gotta go WKRP is starting…Jennifer and Bailey always look good.

  6. Put up an antenna…I did years ago. Lots of old shows and movies on the broadcast channels for free.
Look who owns the cable and sat services, you think the top bosses won’t tell the “news” and hollywood celebs to shut up if you hit their bottom line? I bet things would change real quick if half of the people that hate fake news and asshole celebs insulting them would just cancel their cable and only buy used DVDs.

  7. we have antennae and amazon/netflix. Dont miss cable a bit. My wife did ask if we could get one of these “thingies you plug into the back of the tv and get free programs?”

    I sighed.

  8. The big selling point for cable when it first started was that since you were paying for the channels you wouldn’t get any commercials. It was commercial free tv. And then it all changed. They are double dipping.
You pay for the channels and the cable companies still get to charge advertisers.
This truly is a multi-billion dollar a year industry.
And the reason I know it is all shit is that liberals won’t attack it as one of the “big businesses that must be hated at all costs”.
Just like they love the billion dollar a year abortion business.

  9. Hubby cancelled cable, effective yesterday. We’ve got Prime and nothing else and we are saving $100 a month. Money’s tight lately and we sure as hell don’t need to finance corps and peeps that hate us.
