Four Democratic Senators and one Independent Senator are pushing to include funding for free phone and video calls for the incarcerated population in the U.S. in the next Coronavirus relief bill, The Hill reports.
“Regular communication with loved ones has consistently proven to help incarcerated people succeed in reentering the workforce after their release, and allowing them to stay connected will benefit them and their communities in the short and long term,” the Senators wrote in a letter to leadership, according to the news site.
Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-MN, Tammy Duckworth, D-IL, Cory Booker, D-NJ, and Elizabeth Warren, D-MA, Angus King, I-ME all signed onto the letter asking that incarcerated people are able to communicate with their families at a time when there’s no visitation allowed. more here
Just when I thought I had heard it all! Better the Relief Bill did not pass as the dems had all their wet dream wants packed into it.
Why not just put them up in the basement at Chez Duckworth, Chez Booker, etc.? You want them to have all the comforts of home, so put YOUR money where your mouths are, not MINE.
@This Texan Has Had Enough:
Eww.
Cartel leaders need to communicate with their generals. When where to deliver drugs and under age girls. Pelosi and her friends are running out of coke.
Fine, give them two soup cans and a piece of string.
Why don’t they just deliver steak 🥩 and 🦞 lobster while they’re at it.
Where’s Sheriff Joe Arpaio when you really need him? Prisoners don’t deserve squat.
How about Jelly of the Month club? Why have limitations?
A: I don’t want another relief bill. I want America to OPEN UP!
B: If there was to be another relief bill it should cover only relief!
“How about Jelly of the Month club?” And every month it’s KY….
