Woke Progressives Discourage Term “Mistress,” Instead Encourage “Companion” or “Friend”

Chicks On The Right – This morning I woke up to a hilarious statement by AP Stylebook. The latest target of woke progressive lunacy is apparently the term “mistress.”

According to AP Stylebook,

“Don’t use the term mistress for a woman who is in a long-term sexual relationship with, and is financially supported by, a man who is married to someone else. Instead, use an alternative like companion, friend or lover on first reference and provide additional details later.”

Now, I’m an Oxford comma gal, so I have a bone to pick with their use of commas in this statement, but that’s beside the point. Additionally, I can’t help but wonder which powerful “mistress” was sufficiently offended by the term that they persuaded the AP to make a statement (which they say was originally issued in previous years), but that’s also not the point. Or maybe it was a powerful man who was caught with a “friend” and they wanted to get ahead of the narrative, but that’s not the point either.

The point is, we apparently need to manipulate language so as to avoid potentially offending mistresses by calling them mistresses.

  1. I love word games, lets play without a thesaurus…

    Piece of shit?
    Home breaker?
    Kamala Harris?
    Dr (LMAO) Jill Biden?

  4. Why not just call them what they are, fuck buddies. I had no clue what they were until a few years ago and one of my kids had to explain it to me. Call me old fashioned but we used to call mistresses whores or worse. And the term for extramarital sex was shacking up.

  5. I suppose “girlfriend” will be next to be offensive because “women” aren’t “girls” and extra-curricular sex partners aren’t necessarily even female.

I vote for “paramour”. Because it’s gender-neutral and the left hates it but can’t find an argument against it.

  6. There’s this whore in my ward who ran for alderman had lawn signs everywhere referring to her as “alderperson” and referred to herself as such all the way up till the election was over. Unfortunately she won and now calls herself alderman.

All mistresses call themselves mistress. Otherwise no one would know what the hell they are talking about.
