Progressives think they are helping blacks with this bill. If you lessen the severity of the penalty for the crime, there will be more of them – which, I think is the idea. Progressives hate blacks. Their policies prove it.
Washington Democrats hope to go easy on drive-by murderers in order to promote racial equity for criminals. It’s the latest light-on-crime scheme pushed under the guise of being anti-racist.
House Bill 1692 lessens the criminal penalties for drive-by shootings. It prohibits using a drive-by shooting as a basis for elevating a first degree murder charge to an aggravated first degree murder. The bill is also retroactive, lessening punishment for those already found guilty in drive-by shooting cases. It even offers carve-outs to release felons from jail if they committed their violent act when they were under 21-years-old.
If they thought they could get away with it, democrat lawmakers would simply decriminalize all crimes when committed by blacks. Give them time; they’ll get around to it eventually.
Add, ´when drive by victims are black too´ and I can support this legislation …………

Murder vs aggravated murder. I didn’t know the difference until this article made me look it up.
This bill is ludicrous. Did the drive-by fit any of the specific instances that fit the aggravated murder criteria? Then charge them for the higher crime.
In my opinion, if you commit murder, without mitigating circumstances, what is the difference? (No, do not conflate with Hillary comment a few years ago). Maybe that is why I have been released from jury pools in major cases. You killed someone, or you orchestrated an attempt to kill that person. I will not give you an exception because of your race, creed, color, religion, or other meaningless qualifier (lgtbqrstuvwxyz+)

Next they will reduce the penalty if the car is a hybrid or electric. An environmentally friendly drive-by will lower the penalty, plus it changes the victim’s carbon footprint to zero.
And if it’s an Amish drive by shooting there would be no penalty whatsoever since the Amish aren’t capable of drive of dive by shootings. Clippity clop, clippitty clop, bang!
Let them practice shooting at their legislative facilities. The Fire Lane can be replaced with the Shooting Lane. Remove all obstacles and cover.
