The guys who wrote “Revolution #5 (Inluding the lyric
“So if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao,
You ain’t gonna make it with anyone anyhow”
and the guys who wrote “Street Fighting Man” with the lyric “Hey, think the time is right. For a palace revolution” have done all they can to foster totalitarian Communism into being and would probably drop albums full of songs about how governments should be able to forcibly perform medical experiments on entire populations and censor and starve everyone who doesn’t agree with their worldview.
From “Question Authority” to “Cancel ANYONE Who Challenges OUR Preferred Authority” in one lifetime.
…you guys have been 60 of your 80 years.
Get off the stage already.
…although I WOULD like to see Mick Jaeger perform “I’m Eighteen” one last time, with the original lyrics.
Because THAT would be hilarious.
Especially if he broke a hip strutting at the end.

I can’t say I have ever seen the long term attraction of the Stones. I like some of their early stuff but other than that they sound like a second rate bar band. Lots of bands did back then but that was before rock became an “art form.”
People who weren’t around back then don’t appreciate the Beatles. That is not the same as “like” the Beatles. For better or worse, they were the prototype of what the music industry became. We are getting away from that model now into AI music (which nobody outside of the music industry is really into).

If they were to co-mingle for a performance … SMoD.

That’ll only keep me working another 20 years, tops.

Worth a shot for an album anyway…before they all die from SADS.

Two of the most overrated bands of all time.
Both use the same 4 chords in all their songs and their lyrics are all so dumb.
The Stones are just plain gross on top of it all.

I’m waiting for you, Keith, you won.
Come home already. I’m lonely without you.
3
I was into Clapton. Everyone else back then was an also-ran.

…look up “Miss You” if you want to hear what happens when the Stones try to change with the times…

Thank you beachmom.

Ah, look at all the geriatric people….
Any music these people could create will be digitally altered to the point it won’t really be their work.

I proffer that the collaboration, like most, would disappoint. Think Blind Faith or any Dick Clark “supergroup” ever assembled.
SNS – Your first rant was right on.
All the “rebel” musicians of our youth have sold out and are now supporting the establishment. F them all.
Speaking of Selling Out, I used to keep track of bands that allowed their music to be used for commercials. It became overwhelming. Even Janis and Jimi songs are now in commercials.

How come I never hear the Stones’ “Some Girls” on the radio?
2
SNS: I’m not familiar with the entire Rolling Stones catalogue, but wasn’t it Alice Cooper who did “I’m Eighteen”?

I’m no Stones or Beatles fan boy, but both groups did some really great songs back in the 60’s. Don’t care for their politics or morales, but if that’s the criteria, I probably would listen to much music at all, country included.

Oh, FFS!
Both bands did some good and some poor music – like ALL the others!
Shit, even Pink Floyd did some crappy stuff – same with Clapton – same with Hendrix – Hell, they joined the ranks of totalitarianism when they became the pets of the rich and famous and became mainstream – that, and they were socialistically inclined, anyway – and socialist/Nazism/perversion is now mainstream.
They (obviously) understood how to take advantage of opportunity.
Sort of a natural fit …

Just my opinion.
Meh.
Yesterday’s rebels.
Today’s fascist.
