Professor Camille Paglia figured out the Internet early, impressed Matt Drudge, and has become a star online. By making catty remarks about the Clintons and other liberals, many conservatives consider her outspoken and been a friend.
I did.
But then I checked out her latest missive and realized, she is playing us for suckers. And we are.
In Salon — red flag — she wrote of the presidential race. While she stick it to Hillary, who doesn’t these days? Jeb! Bush too. Americans want new presidential candidates, not lifers. SNIP: Eh. I’ve never even considered her a “frenemy”. But I’ve always enjoyed the slapping around of Hillary and Bill Clinton, and the occasional feminist.
That I don’t share Paglia’s politics is irrelevant. She has insights into society and politics that are unique and frequently brilliant. She also has a wickedly pointed way with words and has caused deep embarrassment to many who richly deserved it. Our world is a richer place with her in it.
I have to say, those times when Drudge would reference this person I would always wonder who she is and why I care what she thinks. She’s never really impressed me as a truly high thinker, or as influential. Now that I know she is a liberal professor that votes strictly on party lines I know for certain she is a lemming liberal that goes ga-ga for false idols just like the rest of the low intelligence leftists. Thanks for the heads up.
She’s totally divorced from reality.
It’s obvious she’s never done any meaningful work in her entire life, and is completely in the thrall of the “toney” classed imbeciles and other assorted parasites.
“Money” and “birthright” are her watchwords.
Paglia makes some excellent points. I don’t agree with everything the woman says. She is misguided in some things but, nevertheless brilliant. I like and respect her.
She pisses off liberals, that counts for a lot.
