AT:
When governments take charge of medical care and expenditures on prolonging life come out of the same pool of money used for the military, road-building, schools and all the other functions of government, the bureaucrats who are the decision-makers have every incentive to encourage a rapid death, if not insist upon it.
Our northern neighbor Canada offers an example of the slippery slope. Wesley J. Smith writes on National Review Online:
Canadian doctors committed thousands of homicides in 2018. According to an interim report published by the government, in the first ten months of last year, doctors lethally injected 2, 613 patients (with one assisted suicide) — and that doesn’t include the homicides committed by doctors in Quebec, Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut.
This means well over 3,000 people are killed by their doctors each year in Canada, which — if my math is correct — is more than 250 a month, more than 58 a week, and more than eight per day. Heck, that’s about one every three hours.

Don’t fear it’s cheaper
It will be your duty as a patriotic American to agree to the treatment plan which will involve swallowing two little pills under light sedation. A grateful nation celebrates your community spirit.

Watched dad dying in the hallway. soiled and very embarrassed.cardiac care room right there one bed empty two beds in the room.two days in the hallway watching people enter the half filled room i lost it. I asked why is that bed empty? Answer private room paid for. No! Wrong! This socialist health care does not allow that. Dad was moved into the empty bed for his last days .The family of the woman in the other bed were furious that a commoner was in her room.

So long far ago,
I’m going to have a look into this with my local MP. The law used to be that a doctor (with the patient or family permission) could withhold water or meds but not actively inject a patient with a drug that causes their death. Very similar to a DNR. If a doctor did actively assist in the death of a patient they would be up before a judge. I’m pretty sure that most Canadian’s know this exists and most doctors I’ve talked to about this wouldn’t actively end the life of a patient.
Of course it should read “I’m pretty sure that most Canadians DON’T know that this exists….”.
No great loss.
Once you embrace socialism you’ve agreed to misery, famine, slavery, pestilence, abuse, dishonesty, and death.
Tacit consent.
Explicit submission.
Too late to complain.
Get along into the oven! Hush up, now!

My husband is going to Canada on business and just said he wanted to get up to date on their politics.
This is horrifying but not unpredictable.
The libidiots in this country will just say we’re the ones to do it the right way. They ignore statistics and history when it proves they’re wrong.
