World News Era – Cops at the scene of a suspicious brush fire in Quebec last week mistook a woman’s burnt body for a mannequin and placed it in a police station dumpster.
Officials in the town of Sherbrooke, just north of Vermont, apologized for the embarrassing mistake Thursday and explained that police and firefighters were somehow duped by a bystander, according to the CBC.
“When they arrived, witnesses declared that someone had lit a silicone mannequin on fire,” Sherbrooke Police Chief Danny McConnell reportedly said.
“After discussions between the two departments, it was agreed that the mannequin would be disposed of in the container at the Sherbrooke police service, which cannot be accessed by members of the public.”
Hours after authorities trashed the victim’s body, her husband filed a missing person report, according to the article.

Burnt, dead people do NOT look, handle, or smell like ANY sort of mannequin. People can be burnt down to the point they have flippers for arms and legs and their eyes popped by heat, but you can still tell roasted flesh from literally ANYTHING else from some diatance away by the odor, and CERTAINLY when you HANDLE it.
Also, you NEVER take “bystanders'” word for it. Some arsonists get a kick out of watching their handiwork and have a vested interest in screwing with fire investigations like this. You’re an idiot if you go by random asshole statements.
Everyone involved should have their license pulled for life.

To reinforce what SNS said, there’s no fing way they could mistake the smell of burning silicon vs burnt flesh. No way. Weight, and rigidity of the corpse would have been unmistakable. But Nazis don’t give a single fuck about you while your alive, probably even less after you have transitioned.

Sorry but burnt human flesh is nothing similar in texture or odor to that of a plasticized object, as any decent forensic anthropologist can confirm. This tossing out of the poor woman’s body was done either deliberately from laziness or an attempt to hide a crime.
