  1. Dr. Carson needed to explain that Islam is a theocracy – a Muslim nation can have a constitution and a system of laws, but that constitution and system of laws must follow the Koran because the Koran is the superceding authority. Therefore, a true Muslim President would be bound to ignore any facets of our system of laws that conflict with the Koran.

In my worthless opinion, the worst form of goverment is a theocracy – be it Muslim, Christian, Jewish, or any of the other religions. But this is what devout Muslims are commanded to establish – a theocracy based upon the Koran. All of the individual freedoms found in the Bill of Rights mean nothing to a Muslim if they conflict with the dictates of the Koran.

I am shocked that progressives and leftists are so ignorant as to promote the idea of “Islamophobia” and attempt to protect Islam over other religious beliefs and in fact our Constitutional system of laws. Many of the tenents of Islam would gut the “freedoms” that leftists claim are so important – Islam does not condone homosexual rights or acts which Muslims consider sexual perversions, Islam will not coddle able-bodied adults who do not work, Islamic justice is harsh, and individual rights such as the freedom of speech are always subject to the Koran. Islam is more of a threat to atheists and agnostics than any other religion. Leftists are outraged if the Ten Commandments are present on government property, but accept and promote the validity of a religion that essentially outlaws much of what leftists stand for.

Dr. Carson seems to recognize that a true Muslim President would present a threat to our system, and that Islam presents a threat both foreign and domestic. I have no problem with a Muslim group that wants to privately order their affairs in accordance with the Koran; I have an insurrmountable problem with having the Koran as the basis for the supreme law of the land.

  2. Spot on. ANY theocracy means death to individual freedom, sooner or later. That’s why our Founders established this country with separation of Church and State. We just need to make sure it stays that way.
