CNN’s ‘Facts First’ Banana Ad

This time, somebody’s gonna get hurt.

Truth Revolt: Back in October, CNN dropped a baffling “facts first” ad in hopes of combatting President Trump’s accusations that the network is “fake news.” They were scourged with hilarious mockery that left the ad feeling more like a joke than something to take seriously. But now, CNN has brought it back — new and not-so-improved.

The original, and most desperate ad, showed a picture of an apple and a voiceover that stated: “Some people might try to tell you that it’s a banana. They might scream ‘banana, banana, banana,’ over and over and over again. They might put BANANA in all caps. You might even start to believe that this is a banana. But it’s not. This is an apple.”  MORE

  1. Apparently, some people got hurt.

Don Lemon and Anderon Cooper were shoving up each others rectums what they thought, as they screamed “bananas….bananas… more bananas!!!”, were actually really big ole crispy apples.

I guess depending on what they are used for, mistaking apples for bananas can be very painful and people really can get hurt. Thank goodness they have stopped mistaking bananas for innocent gerbils and mice.

  2. It just dawned on me how screwed up the ad was. Let me explain.
If you want to show a difference and one of the items is an apple, most people would use an orange as the counter point or opposite item. Who ever heard the phrase “comparing apples to bananas”?
CNN can’t even illustrate a common phrase without screwing it up!

  3. CNN has alot to learn and shows no sign they can learn it.
