Conspiracy Theory – or Frighteningly Plausible

  1. In the current contextual environment, I skew towards engineered malevolence. You can hide a lot of it in the noise of federal incompetence.

It did highlight the absence of fallout and bomb shelter space. It did illustrate a small response to what many of us had forgotten. Use it as an experiment.

  2. How do you ‘accidentally’ push a button that sets off alarms warning of a nuclear strike?
It took 38 min to sound the all clear?
I’m not Machiavellian, this never occurred to me.
Somebody needs to lay off the choom before work?
I was like Al, I’m with stupid, the more I think about it, plausible?

  3. Somehow this story stinks to high heaven. How on earth is there a single button that is so important, anywhere, that can be “accidentally” pushed like that? I could be wrong of course, but really??

  4. Stupid and evil walk hand-in-hand.
For instance, it’s hard to say where with, say, #BLM, stupid gives way to evil.
Or evil to stupid, if that’s your take.
Are the willingly stupid not evil, as well?
We can never discern “intent;” regardless of the arrogance of the law-enforcement community. Some people may buy a pound of weed because they want the best price/ounce – not because they have any “intention” of selling it.
Same with a politician who sets up a secret server and undermines the security of the nation, many times, distributing classified materials to bad actors who donate to said politician’s “charitable” foundation. How can we determine the politician’s “intent?” Is it enough that the nation’s security was compromised? Or must we pretend to understand the pol’s “intention?”

The fact is: the alarm was given. Someone was responsible for sounding that alarm. That someone is known to whomever set up that alarm system, or the operators, thereof. There is simply – at that particular time – at that particular place – one – and only one – person was responsible.
Get that person to explain himself – in a public forum – and prosecute him for his actions – and open him to legal action by the state and by the civilians who suffered from his actions.
Or, if his actions were appropriate and within the operational parameters of his job, protect him from the legal beagles, but he still must answer and explain.

  5. Cover up a near false flag missile attack with a really implausible lie? It was just a little push button mistake? So a nuclear war can actually be started by one finger on a single button? That is just plain asinine!! Hawaii is one deep Navy installation and the Navy there has no way to take out flying missiles? A very expensive, useless military that cannot protect its own self!! What if the alert was actually based on reality? Pearl Harbor happened allegedly unexpectedly. Another intended surprise attack by whom didn’t work out?

  6. Nah this is simple stupidity….The little community that I live in and the one to the south, the one to the north, the ones to the east and west all set the emergency siren off at 7 am (to put your kids on the bus) 12 pm ( to remember to eat)…6pm (to remember to eat and make your booger eating morons come home).l It’s fly over country and I’m getting more convinced as to why….

  7. Definely done to force President Trump to concede to North Korea’s demands. Activist social justice warriors have been weaponized and are in every government agency and it’s very possible they had something to do with a “false alarm”. They have absolutely no concern for public safety or our sovereignty. In fact, they would prefer Kim Jong-un instead of Mr. Trump as U.S. president.

  8. one theory is the time is suspiciously the same as the area code 808. they are upgrading the alarm system and doing a dry run when the code error triggered on the time instead of the location.

  9. Well conspiracy theories are invited when the story is so weak. I guess the guy that Butt Dialed the Emergency system doesn’t own a smart phone because apparently he wasn’t aware of what he’d done. 12 minutes later they have an “Oh Shit” moment. Then they spend another 22 minutes sending messages to cell phones. Just asking, how did they use to send emergency messages to the public before cell phones? I seem to remember public addresses coming through radio stations and TeeVee.

Weak shit and yes the dead body on the run way gets a lot of us thinking we are being lied to again.

  10. They’ve managed to change shifts 3 times a day for 30 years and no one “accidentally” hit the button until now? Trump theory plausible but I think an insider is just trying to scare the homeless out of Honolulu to get rid of that stench.

  11. O.K.
Which one of you is Alex Jones?

  12. “Some idiot “pressed the wrong button” hoping Trump would respond, triggering a catastrophic international event which would end…”

Nope. So monumentally stupid I can’t believe some mouth breather actually rendered this in text.

  13. I worked with an ass-clown who thought he was a real life ladies man. He was in control of a chemical process unit and was in the main control overseeing the entire process. A female was brought in for a tour and he was told to explain what was going on. At the end of the tour, he looked at he and said, “What ever you do, don’t touch this button.” It instantly kills the entire process. As he said that, he flipped up the protective cover and press the button. Everyone in the control room burst out in laughter. He looked like the deer in the headlights. It cost the company around $100,000 and many men to work very hard to get the unit running again. The woman was laughing when she left the room because she knew he was trying to impress her.

  14. This doof had one single, simple job: Don’t press the red button.
Next day: Don’t press the red button.
Next day: Don’t press the red button.
If there is a verifiable bona fide emergency, then press the red button.
To the liberals, the fact that Donald Trump is a Republican president is seen as a verifiable bona fide emergency. They want to get rid of him. He will probably overreact to a trigger warning. Doof wants to get rid of Trump, and doof has the means to save the country – if he just presses the red button. Doof presses the red button.
    Deliberately.
Not a doubt in my mind.

  15. I and anybody with 1/2 a brain, call bovine scatology on the accidental pushing of the wrong button.
As for the conspiracy……it is pure fantasy(or wet dream to some) that TRUMP would kick the football based on a single text from a state.

  16. This button pusher guy was paid by N. Korea to press the button, so that when they actually do launch a bomb/missile, no one will take shelter…resulting in a higher kill count. It’s the old “the boy who called wolf” theory. You’ll see.

  17. Presented for your consideration: What if it was a NOKO agent who pressed the button?

Now who’s going to believe it when there’s a REAL missile strike?

    (Cue The Twilight Zone music)

    😉

  18. What I don’t get is what exactly is the point of this warning. The ensuing chaos demonstrated that nobody had a fucking clue what to do when the warning came. They may as well have sent a blinking message saying, “We’re fucked!… We’re fucked!…”

  19. As mentioned above, the denizens of the Dark Web are postulating that there was indeed a missile launched and it was intercepted. Posit: the 38-minute gap to debunk.

  20. No, in hawayah, they are that fucking stoopid. I hated living there and I volunteered for the civil defense for three years.

If you think SAC is more than 30 seconds from POTUS, then you are uneducated or delusional.

I’ve been on the working end of receiving alerts. That shit ain’t fun.

  21. In any emergency warning system like this, there’s no one-button-push to set it off. At the very LEAST there’s an “Are you sure?” and the operator would be able to instantly cancel it. This wasn’t accidental and I very much doubt it was his sole decision – he KNEW his job was gone when he pushed it whether it was his decision or ordered from higher up. I hope it was worth it because they either paid him big bucks to stay quiet or he’ll suicide very soon (and maybe that body on the runway is him).
