Court awards Carole Baskin ‘Tiger King’ Joe Exotic’s zoo

Just The News: Carole Baskin, whose longstanding feud with Joe Exotic was chronicled in the hit Netflix docuseries “Tiger King,” has been awarded the zoo once owned by her nemesis.

A judge ruled in favor of Baskin’s Big Cat Rescue Corporation Monday in a lawsuit against the Greater Wynnewood Development Group, LLC. The latter company once was owned by Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage.

According to court documents, a judge on Monday found that reality star Joe Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, fraudulently transferred his properties to his mother, Shirley M. Schreibvogel, to avoid paying Baskin $1 million that had been ordered. read more

  2. I watched one episode of that, since it seemed nearly everyone else had. Then I read an interesting article about it.
    Basically, tiger farms make all of their money on photo ops with baby tigers. US law limits the age at which they can be held, I think like between 6 weeks and 3 months. That means that:
    1. All the money they make on a tiger is in that 6-week window. So they want more babies all the time.
    2. The tigers are basically worthless after that.
    3. They can’t destroy the tigers and act like they care – and tigers eat A LOT.

    Which ultimately means that, yes, they are all self-interested jerks.
