American Thinker: Hate crime or terroristic threat? I suppose it is better than nothing, but I do not hold out a lot of hope that the DC police are up to the task of properly going after the mob that attacked Tucker Carlson’s house, cracking the front door as they pounded on it, terrorizing his wife who was home alone at the time. But the incident is now officially being investigated as a “hate crime” by DC police.
The bullhorn-equipped mob clearly was aimed at instilling terror in order to silence a prominent critic of theirs.

A second chant was even more threatening: “Tucker Carlson, we will fight! We know where you sleep at night!”
Using their (now deleted) Twitter account, the Antifa group posted the menacing video and wrote, “Tonight, we remind you that you are not safe either.”
Overheard in one video is a woman saying she wished she had brought a “pipe bomb” to Carlson’s house.
Since this was an attempt to instill fear and change behavior with threats of violence, it seems to me that it falls under the definition of terroristic threat, which, I believe, is a more serious crime:
A terroristic threat is a crime generally involving a threat to commit violence communicated with the intent to terrorize another, to cause evacuation of a building, or to cause serious public inconvenience, in reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror or inconvenience. It may mean an offense against property or involving danger to another person that may include but is not limited to recklessly endangering another person, harassment, stalking, ethnic intimidation, and criminal mischief.
Excellent – but the D.C. mayor along with the chief of police need to issue a proclamation that that behavior won’t be tolerated. And then back it up next time. This crap has got to stop now, especially in our nation’s capital.
Were there any arrests? These assholes had to be there for at least 1/2 hour. The cops couldn’t get there and grab them all?
Democrats are free to break the law whenever they feel like it. That’s why things have gotten so out of hand. I don’t understand why the republicans gave them a king’s X.
I’ve seen no reports of arrests,no riot squad, no disperse orders. Where is the incentive for them to “investigate” if no one was jailed on charges of at least disturbing the peace and vandalism?

The new AG should be addressing this and say that a federal task force has been formed and these people will be arrested and tried for terrorism. Wear a mask. Go to jail. No exceptions.

I am praying for Tucker Carlson and his family. These thugs are most likely causing PTSD in the Carlson family. If someone is trying to break in to mam man’s castle, shoot and kill them on the spot.
We need a national stand your ground law. I’m all for state’s rights and I guess non-state in this case, but Constitutionally we all have the right to be safe in our home.
Many states across this country Tucker’s wife could have pulled the trigger until you could read a newspaper through them. In crazy ass D.C. she probably could be charged with a crime if she warned them she would shoot.

DC Police (in fact, all that I’ve had contact with, over some 35 to 40 years, were perfectly professional) ain’t racist as LAPD (for instance) but I’m sure they’re being pushed in that direction.
