De Niro’s Father’s Paintings Are Junk Shop Quality

Ever go to a junk shop and sift through a pile of moldy canvasses? There are lots of paintings taken from the attics of estate sales where the relatives of amateur painters felt obligated to save the uncle’s “masterpieces,” but out of view.

That’s what these De Niro paintings look like. They are junk. De Niro achieved a certain amount of success because after he got married and fathered little Robert, he immediately realized he was gay. He left his wife months after junior was born.

He had sex with some poet, hung out with the right set in Greenwich Village, and voila, his crap has currency in the make believe economy of the “art world.”

  3. De Niro’s most acclaimed role in Taxi Driver was clearly just him acting normally. No surprise the talentless hack had a talentless hack for a father. Mental illness clearly changed hands too.

  11. One year when the kids were six, we sent them to an art summer camp in the city park. The elderly instructor liked to “help” the kids paint. As in “do most of the painting himself “. The kids were quite prolific. Their paintings all looked just like Daddy DeNiro’s, minus the nudes.

  19. MJA – He went to the same art school (The Mr Magoo School of Art) as that grandmother in the Spanish village who took it upon herself to “restore” a 19th century fresco in her church (Christ with a crown of thorns) because she was so upset that the paint was flaking off.

    I should have kept all the art mistakes my kids threw away. Now I know they were world class artists at 4 years old. All that fortune gone to the dump. 🙁

    very screwed up sycophant.

    He is using Projection – which sycophants do.

    I’ve seen better on school wall corridor walls…

  32. DeNiro Sr. was a flim flam man. Thanks to “modern” art, awful art is the norm. BTW, Illustr8r, you beat me to it. That’s exactly what I was thinking.
