Delta Pilots Authorize Strike, but Walkout Remains Unlikely

Epoch Times: ATLANTA—Pilots at Delta Air Lines voted to authorize union leaders to call a strike, but it might be a largely symbolic gesture, as hurdles remain before the pilots can legally walk off the job.

The Air Line Pilots Association said Monday that 96 percent of Delta pilots took part in the vote, and 99 percent of those favored calling a strike “if necessary” to get a new contract.

Airline unions are seeking big pay increases and could have leverage because of labor shortages during a rebound in travel. more

  1. Pilot school is now doing what medical school is doing; using race as the main criterion for admissions. Meritocracy is being sacrificed at the altar of social justice. I’m glad I got to travel in my younger days because now I don’t trust the pilots they are rushing through just to check a quota box.

Conversely, from this point forward I will not allow any doctor under 35 to look at me or treat me in any way, anyone younger and the specter of affirmative action will make his training and graduation suspect.

  2. First the company said they were going to mandate the jab. Then a stew bitched at me for taking too long to enjoy a cup of coffee maskless. Went home, called the boss and told him, “I have retired.” Up to that point I had planned to work 10 more years.

I’d rather drive for three days than fly for 3 hours and have to put up with long security lines, stolen luggage, TSA, and rude, gay, arrogant, mask Nazi flight attendants. We travel a different route each trip. There’s a lot of beauty to take in through the western states.
