Dem-Appointed Judge Tosses Major Climate Case Against Oil and Gas Producers in Blow to Environmental Activists

WFB: A Baltimore judge tossed a landmark climate change lawsuit against more than two dozen oil and gas companies in a sizable defeat for environmental activists and Democrats that have touted the case.

Baltimore Circuit Court judge Videtta Brown—who was appointed to the bench by former Gov. Martin O’Malley (D., Md.)—ruled late Wednesday that the city cannot regulate global emissions and swatted down the city’s arguments that it merely sought climate-related damages from the defendants, not the abatement of their emissions. She further stated that the court does not accept the city’s contention that it does not seek to “directly penalize emitters.” more

  1. Well, the perfect answer is for these terrible oil and gas companies to agree to cut off all imports of oil and gas products (heating oil/gas, gas for cooking, gasoline for cars/trucks) into the states that have filed these lawsuits. Then take out advertising in these states to let the citizens know exactly what has happened and who (the politician’s they elected) are responsible.

  2. The oil and gas companies should have the right to refuse service to any city, state, or county that takes part in these lawfare suits.
Think oil and gas are contributing to climate change? Great, you don’t get any oil or gas!
