European supermarket Lidl has decided to remove religious crosses from the photographs they use on packaging for certain items.
Lidl uses photographs of Greek landscapes for certain Greek-inspired products. One example would be the packaging of moussaka which uses a picture of Santorini Island.
The picture of Santorini Island displays the instantly recognizable white and blue buildings. However, the picture used for the packaging of moussaka has a subtle but substantial difference to reality.
The clear difference is the lack of crosses on the supermarkets packaging.
