The liberal Chicago suburb of Evanston, Illinois, officially approved the first spending for “reparations” for black residents on Monday evening. It is the nation’s first reparations program, following an 8-1 vote by local aldermen in November 2019.

  4. What if you’re white and don’t smoke dope will that be considered racist since you’re not contributing to the poor and oppressed black minority. This is totally a dumbass idea because you know the ferals will spend it all as fast as they can get it and come back asking for more. Besides all the reparations for slavery were paid in blood during the Civil War 155 + years ago to end slavery in America. Wasn’t that enough?

  10. This is going to be fun. They are going to tear each other apart over who ‘qualifies’ and what number of ‘shares’ each gets. Watch them go to extremes in racism and accusations of racism.

    So the set aside ($400,000.) covers the first sixteen grifters and the rest will come from pot taxes? That’s a lot of weed sales.

  20. All you need to do is identify as living in Evanston and had a black relative there between 1919 and 1969. That way you can apply for it from anywhere in the world. If you are denied you can sue the city for being discriminatory and racist. If anyone questions your identifying heritage explain to them it’s not your responsibility to answer those questions as a marginalized class, but rather it’s the job of the city to accept it, apologize, and pay you.
