KXii – A family of three were found naked, down the street from a burning shed in Southmayd, Texas Tuesday afternoon. Two officers said they were attacked by the parents.
The neighborhood had to be evacuated for three hours as crews tried to put out the flames and law enforcement tried to piece together how it all happened.
“Well it was kind of weird to see all three of them walking down the highway, naked,” witness Larry Sanford said.
Larry Sanford was driving down Highway 56 in Southmayd just before 2 p.m. Tuesday when he saw smoke from a shed on fire.
“But when we topped the hill and got down here by the bridge, there were three nude people walking down the road,” Sanford said.
They were walking away from the flames.
Authorities said these people turned out to be a mom, dad and their 13-year-old daughter, family to the owner of the property with the shed on fire.
Then a couple minutes later, Southmayd police saw them. Sanford was still watching.
“Saw them and pulled around there and tried to stop them and he immediately got into an altercation with a male subject and it got pretty violent,” Sanford said.
Southmayd Chief Chad McKee said he was assaulted by the man and then the suspects took off. Then about 30 minutes later, McKee said another officer was assaulted by the mom. Both officers’ injuries are minor.
The sheriff’s office and Pottsboro police joined in to help and got the three people detained.
“They were not acting as a normal person would act,” Capt. Sarah Bigham said.
Grayson County Capt. Sarah Bigham said the adults were transported to the hospital by ambulance and the juvenile was flown. The two adults have both been arrested for assault of a public servant, child endangerment and resisting arrest.
While all this was going on, the shed fire on Christi Lane off of Highway 56 led to an evacuation of the neighborhood after people reported hearing explosions.

I’m thinking maybe they were trying to escape from Leatherface.
It’s Texas, after all.
Burning meth lab, burned out meth heads.
Um, yeah. Crystal Meth, anyone?
I’m on the good to go side of things. Violence. But I’m stellar at talking assholes down of the ledge. Always my first option. Just sayen there’s other options. Plus fighting while naked is not optimal. Unless your’e fighting Stormy Daniels.
North of Dallas… So… OU territory… 🙂
“Then about 30 minutes later, McKee said another officer was assaulted by the mom.”
That must have been quite the interesting 30 minutes…
lots and Lots and LOTS a drugs.
Not going to waste time on why thays wuz neked… other than the blast from the explosion ripped their clothes off?
Who the eff knows.
Perfectly normal behavior today. Expect more.
That poor shed.
“Skynet’s time portal only transports organic, living matter. Nothing inanimate— no clothing, no tools, no weapons.”
The cops should have known when the big naked guy demanded their motorcycle, their leather jackets, and their sunglasses.

Then a little Mexican kid took Sarah’s picture with a polaroid camera and she gave him a peso for it. And the rest of the story comes 5 years later.

Kind of weird? makes you wonder what truly bizarre is to this guy.
Evacuating the neighborhood does sound like meth lab fire.
Kind of a long walk, bare foot, from Florida.
My only thought is that there is no way they could be good-looking. End story at the heading. BFH, you wrote the story in the headline.

Which clue gave it away Inspector Clouseau?
Meth fire, nothing to see here.
“Why do you think they call it “dope”?”
“A mind is a terrible thing to waste.”
“Wash day?”
izlamo delenda est …
And the Angel of the Lord didst attest, Thou art naked, and thou hast sinned against the Lord thy God. Henceforth, thou art banished from the Garden, and thou shalt wander the land in your nakedness, and thou shalt be accosted by the Philistine centurions, and thou shalt be sore afraid. And the angel of the Lord didst draw his sword, and didst touch his sword to the Shed of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and it did burn asunder, and they were sore afraid.
Hey, it IS Texas.
