It used to be kids would carry the sled back up the hill until they were exhausted. Now poor dad will be there all day.
BTW: What brand drill is that? That thing has power!

Dang, that’s one of those ideas that makes you say, “why didn’t I think of that”.

Cool

Nope. Takes away from the kids’ experience of sledding. That was the auto retrieve version of a helicopter parent. Just adds to the pussification of kids. Let ’em haul their sled/innertube back up the hill.

Now it would be a completely different story if this allowed a child with some sort of disability to experience the fun of sledding down a hill. I’m not a complete curmudgeon.

The idea is to wear the kid out,
so dad can sit around the fire later
with a toddy.
I vote NO! Unless that child is physically handicapped.
Today’s kids are waaay to soft and have too many easy escapes. Part of sledding or other Winter Wonderland fun is dragging the sled, toboggan, or disk back up the hill. Work for it!
Next thing, we’ll learn that they don’t have bread bags as boot liners, that they don’t come home soaking wet, and that their hands aren’t red from the cold. Soft, I tell you: These kids are too soft these days.
Goretex? No, no, no… Childhood was supposed to toughen us up. What’s an evening of snow-play without some frostbite and a broken bone or three? Kids these days have it too easy.

Well hell, let’s just send the kids to Coronado for BUDS/Seal training. That ought to toughen the little bastards up.
Genius, pure genius!!!!

Kind of like kids on electric bicycles.
A ride both ways!
