Greenland’s leader Múte Egede said he is prepared to enter into negotiations with President-elect Trump about the future of the mineral-rich arctic territory — but warned his people had no interest in becoming Americans.
At a press conference Friday in Denmark, which exercises nominal sovereignty over Greenland, Egede said he accepted that Greenland was “a place that the Americans see as part of their world” and that while he has not spoken with Trump, he was open to “discussions about what unites us.”
“We are ready to talk,” he said. “Cooperation is about dialogue. Cooperation means that you will work towards solutions.” more
I can’t pronounce the names of half the people in this country now. Now I have to learn Múte Egede?
It’s either US or Communist China or Russia so the choices currently look very poor. If Trump straightens things up some the choice may become somewhat more optimal… at least for a little bit…
I hope people have figured out that Trump’s blather about Greenland, Canaduh, and the “Gulf of America” (along with the online silencing of Vivec Ramswampy) are all shiny objects thrown out there; so people won’t notice how quickly things like H1B visa reform, mass deportations, J6 pardons, and FISA reform are being walked backed as we get closer to 1/20.
