Gun advocates go to court to fight Florida’s 130-yr-old ban on open-carry

BPR: After legislative inaction, Second Amendment advocates have gone to court to see a more than 130-year-old law repealed in Florida.

  1. I like the GOA; I’m a member. I hope they prevail in this suit!

Side note: A few years ago some RKBA folks over on the Atlantic side caused something of a furor by open carrying after telling the local govt boyz&girlz they would be doing so. But they were open carrying while fishing on the local fishing pier, and the strange part of the Florida law says that open carry is OK if you are engaged in, or traveling to/from, certain activities. One of them is fishing. So they were off the hook, if you’ll pardon the expression.

  2. Gun Advocates, my ass. Civil Rights Advocates are what they are. Constitutional Rights are Civil Rights, watch your words and don’t allow the progressive/Marxist/Satanist movement trick you into defining your cause.

  3. An acquaintance (pistol instructor) told me his personal view of open carry is, if you do it, you’re the first guy to get shot. I only do it when outdoors in rural settings. In town/city, it’s always concealed.
