No idea what a Bossa Nova is. Heard of it tho
Bossa nova is a genre of Brazilian music, which developed and was popularized in the 1950s and 1960s and is today one of the best-known Brazilian music …
And they wonder why the aliens won’t contact us.
Bossa nova didn’t really register there for me at all really- I heard more of a mellow disco fever style.
Speaking of bossa nova- some know already but the late, great, amazing “Tom” Jobim is known as the father of that style of music. eg, “Girl From Ipanema” and about a hundred other outstanding world heritage class tunes..
His statue stands prominently along the beach of Rio 🙂
Much like Stevie Ray Vaughn’s stands along the shores of Town Lake in Austin 🙂
Turbo, “Girl From Ipanema” is still a great song. Bosa Nova was cool. You mentioned two greats from my playlist.
Doesn’t look like anything I ever saw in Rio!!

In Junior High 50 years ago we had to dance with the girls in PE class to the song Blame It On The Bossa Nova (I still hate this song). If my PE teachers Mr. Armstrong and others had heard this version their heads have exploded and their would’ve been a lot of hacking going on even more so than when some of the boys refused to dance with the unpopular or unattractive girls. It would’ve been a hackapalooza to end all hackapaloozas, believe me.
Meet the New Bossa, same as the old Bossa?
That people pay money to listen to this crap simply boggles the mind. Great googly moogly!
BFH ~ I would like those four minutes and three seconds of my life back, please.

That said, it does sound a bit like this version of the bossa classic “Corcovado”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAT2oeaR3yk#

Um apart from these guys dressing like they just stepped out of the movie “Hostel” I didn’t see or hear anything that would qualify as Heavy Metal.
It’s got a good beat, easy to dance to; I give it a “9”!
I heard that obongo just saw this video and he’s demanding that they appear at Man’s Country once he returns to Chi town with Reggie in tow.
