Jim Steinman, the colourful composer behind hits like Bat Out Of Hell and Total Eclipse Of The Heart, has died at the age of 73.
His brother Bill told the Associated Press that the songwriter and producer had died of kidney failure on Monday after being ill for some time.
“I miss him a great deal already,” he added.
Singer Meat Loaf, with whom Steinman scored his biggest hits, said goodbye with the words: “Fly Jimmy Fly”. More
Never could stand that song.
Hambone have you ever seen the literal video of total eclipse of the heart. It might give you a different view of the song.

I thought Steinman & Meat’s music was a lot of fun. I have a fantastic Blue Ray Concert in my collection. Better than Disco back then and Rap now.
Basically Lady Gaga was a copy of those type of themed albums with a Madonna type vibe. (i hate both the bitches)
Bit it is obviously a copy of the concept but with shit for music.
Mr. Loaf put his heart and soul into singing that song and he gets my kudos for his efforts, but I still don’t like the song. To each his own!
I saw those guys in Omaha, tickets were like 5 bucks, must of been 77. All I remember about that.
RIP
izlamo delenda est …
Damn. I know he’s been very sick for a long time. Love his music.
Damnit Meat and Barry Gibb, you hang on for a while longer!
Aussie:
Speaking of Barry Gibb, have you checked out his new CD? I love it but I am a BG’s fan:
