Breitbart: Idaho Gov. Brad Little (R) vowed to fight a court decision Friday ruling that the state must provide a multi-thousand dollar gender reassignment surgery for a convicted sex offender.
The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill’s ruling Friday regarding inmate Adree Edmo, who is serving a ten-year prison sentence for sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy when he was 22. Edmo was reportedly diagnosed with gender dysphoria and has tried to castrate himself twice.
“She suffers every single day while they have denied this treatment to her for years and there can be no reason justifying Idaho’s continued refusal to provide her care except bias,” Edmo’s attorney Lori Rifkin said, according to Fox 13.

If gender reassignment were imposed as a sentence or punishment, it would be ruled excessive, but it is acceptable as a benefit or reward? As the state is accepting of the judgement of the psycho with regard to their anatomy, they should similarly allow them to complete their own alteration. Just make sure they clean up their own mess.

I would fight it, too. The 8th Amendment prohibits “cruel and unusual punishment”. The judge who sentenced him didn’t make staying a man part of his punishment. Yes, I know he’s biologically male, but I can’t think of a better way to phrase it.
But if a straight guy wanted his bad teeth fixed so he could get a job when he got out; that, that is an unnecessary expense

I’ve never been in jail or prison. But reading stories about those who have been I thought some of the other male inmates took care of gender reassignment conversion all by themselves. For both the willing and the unwilling. No charge to the tax payers.

Convicts just aren’t as self reliant as they used to be, and now want/expect someone else to do weird stuff for them. They now have little trouble finding jackass judges that agree with them. The evil sob Richard Speck managed to do a sufficient gender reassignment all by himself to himself.
(I was 14 y.o. when Speck murdered the nursing students in Chicago, I still remember standing in the room as my mother listened to the news reports on the radio. It was the first time I actually realized it is true there are very evil people in the world.)
