The YouTubers “Wisecrack” seem to be test driving social commentary in a new pilot episode that tries to make a connection between the mainstream media’s attempt to drive narratives with slanted or outright false stories and the dystopian vision of Ray Bradbury where books aren’t just banned, they’re burned by firemen. Blah blah blah.
I could hang for only two minutes.
I don’t like getting blamed for fake news.
Yeah…… it’s all white people being white.
I was exposed to F 451 as a very young man. Came somewhat later to see it as a cautionary story.
Have witnessed PC culture surpass it.
But now growing older and with most of my life behind me, I don’t worry so much.
Show up at my door. Tell me what you’re about to impose.
I have a retort.
The Left does not want to just burn books (meaning ideas and knowledge). They want a population that cannot read beyond emoji levels. There is an App for that.
I can see how Leftist can be insulated from Conservative thoughts, but the idea that Conservatives can avoid Leftist views is absurd. Even if you avoid the left-wing news, you get exposed in school, College, Movies, Art, Fashion shows, Music, Award shows, Sit-Coms, and Comic books. If you somehow cut yourself off from the Culture, the Government will use its rules and laws to force you to acknowledge the Left’s view. Just ask the Christian bakers and all the workers sent to sensitivity training.
@ Bray Madbury
The scene of seated citizens repeating whatever is on the screen in 1984 comes through clearly.
Pretty damn sure you’re right that they want that.
Weird how some stories that were written as a precaution become a manual for the left.
Lefty: I watched every dystopia-themed movie ever made. Sounds good to me, let’s make it happen! Down with humanity!
I don’t think I’d be living in a bubble if the left wing crap constantly airing on most media weren’t so easily proven to be completely false. I am so sick of the constant firehose of lies and “opinions” from everywhere. “Journalists” are lazy and isgnorant about almost everything except their own self serving crap. I’d rather have my kids hooked on heroin and hooking at the bus station than get anywhere near the media.
@ Dadof4
Hey Brother Dad, you got the insight!
And if they use it as a manual
Their plotting is in plain sight
And easy to predict

4 July 10?
If so, YO!
If no, still funny.

Maybe this why yesterday at the book store (BAM) I saw different printings of Fahrenheit 451 prominently displayed on at least four book shelves.
Yeah…umm…NO.
