Ship with 160 rescued migrants has been barred entry in Italy

Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini suggested Richard Gere fly 160 migrants stranded off the Italian coast back to Hollywood on his “private jet” after the actor made a plea to European leaders to find a port for the ship.

Gere joined representatives from the non-governmental organization Open Arms at a press conference on the Italian island of Lampedusa to appeal to take in the ship. Salvini has refused to allow the vessel into Italian waters, the latest episode highlighting Europe’s divisions over immigration. more

  1. I always tell people who go on about Canada “should take in illegal immigrants” that they should build little houses in their backyards for them, or if the people rent, then give the illegal immigrants space in their apartments/houses. Boy, does that shut them up or else they go off and sulk somewhere NOT near me.

  2. Such honesty never came Richard Gere’s way. He’s got to go back to Hollywood and get his agent and publicist to process it for him before he can respond to that thoughtful suggestion. He should also consider asking George Clooney how many Africans he is housing at that Lake Como estate. If the answer is none, he can rest easy. Words sometimes don’t have consequences.

  3. Richard has to many gerbils he’s taking care of at this time, Butt, in the future he will welcome your offer when he needs some house cleaning and gardening done.
Until then Long live jeffrey epstein – FOREVER IN HELL!!!

  4. And tell me why an American is in a foreign country telling his hosts what they should do. Italy should round up all those filthy, worthless, inbred, good for nothing, Satan worshiping Muslims. Fill up every ship possible, drop the dregs of society off at the Santa Monica pier with maps to Hollywood and promises of a great life.

  5. He would, but it would seriously cut into his virtue-signaling time and budget.

It’s always someone else that needs to pay the price of their fake virtues.

  6. Matteo: Hey’a, you-a Ricardo a’Gera, take-a you-a gerbils back-a where-a you-a live-a. OK, now-a you-a gettaddahere-a.

  7. Celebrities always seem to do their best humanitarian work for people, hundreds of miles away that, many times, don’t deserve it. Meanwhile, our veterans, orphans and homeless are the ones that seem to be neglected.
