Justice Antonin Scalia : “We should just start calling this law SCOTUScare”

SUPREME COURT UPHOLDS NATIONWIDE HEALTH CARE LAW SUBSIDIES.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the nationwide tax subsidies underpinning President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, rejecting a major challenge to the landmark law in a ruling that preserves health insurance for millions of Americans.

The justices said in a 6-3 ruling that the subsidies that 8.7 million people currently receive to make insurance affordable do not depend on where they live, as opponents contended.

The outcome was the second major victory for Obama in politically charged Supreme Court tests of his most significant domestic achievement. And it came the same day the court gave him an unexpected victory by preserving a key tool the administration uses to fight housing bias.

Chief Justice John Roberts again voted with his liberal colleagues in support of the health care law. Roberts also was the key vote to uphold it in 2012. Justice Anthony Kennedy, a dissenter in 2012, was part of the majority on Thursday.  more

  1. Good to know that we have a willing cabal of six Savants in place to correct the spelling, meanings, or whatever possible intent that hundreds of fools in Congress may conjure up for whatever passes for law, justice and the American way!

  2. As Scalia says, nothing means anything anymore. Roberts should be scolded for saying that the ‘Rat Party “passed the Affordable Care Act to improve health insurance markets, not to destroy them.” Bull$hit. They colluded, just like with the banks, to create monopolies and a no-win scenario by making people buy something they shouldn’t be forced to buy. Federal regulation over one’s body. Just stop the world now.

Where is my rubber stamp? Congress is a ‘Great Hall Of the People’ and the Supreme Court is a ‘People’s Court’ out of the USSR. But the White Hut is Obama’s. Or that’s what he told his fellow trannie.

  3. Tyranny. The rule of law is whatever they say it is, even when the laws are written in clear, understandable language. The law means nothing to the federal government, so it should mean nothing to citizens. It’s a sad day for liberty today. It’s dead.

  4. Tyranny is firmly in control now.

The definition: government by a ruler or small group of people who have unlimited power over the people in their country or state and use it unfairly and cruelly.

That pretty much sums it up.
