Kentucky Hunter’s trophy worth 2 bucks

A Kentucky hunter took home an unusual trophy last week, a buck with a second head caught in its rack. The other animal had deteriorated considerably but was clearly another buck that had became entwined when the antlers of the two animals locked together in combat. More

  1. Did anyone else see this in the comments under the story?

That’s how my head felt during the Obama Administration.

  2. I don’t believe this. Of the stories I have heard about bucks’ antlers entangling during battle, none have resulted in something like this. Most are found with both dead, or one being dead and the other barely alive.
There is no way this living buck could have survived until that head broke free from the body. I bet, in his hormonal rage that occurs during the rut, the living buck tried to fight an already dead carcass and the head broke free from the deteriorated body.

  3. He may have won the battle, but I doubt he could get any doe to mate with him with that thing hanging from his antlers; yech!

  4. @Jethro,

Fairly frequently one buck will paw and shred the dead buck’s neck and rip the head off and carry it around.

Like I said – the stories I have been told are counter to this.
I even found two dead carcasses locked together the following spring. Even many of the experts quoted in the stories didn’t believe it.

  6. It’s a laden European swallow.

Which reminds me: When’s the spanking?
And after the spanking, oral sex?

(Sorry, but I’m trying to get in touch with my inner dirty old man.)
