I’m not an expert, but I think that is a German Mauser rifle mounted on the periscope.
7.92×57mm round will knock you on your ass.
maybe you both are right, maybe both are happening at the same time
No more than the .30 06 Springfield
I own an 8X57. properly loaded it equals or exceeds a 30-06, including recoil. I can see that guy getting smacked in the head with that getup. WW1 soldiers wore helmets which would of helped.
Is that an AR?
Looks like a 7.92 x 57 Mauser or referred to as an 8×57 or 8mm Mauser.
By the way, it makes a great deer/black bear rifle.
used for trench warfare. a mirror box that is essentially a way to scope over a trench with out your head getting blown off…

Bob beat me.
I’ve seen stories of a similar gadget for shooting around corners of buildings in recent years.

And the Germans had one in WWII with a curved barrel:

Someone who doesn’t want shot. Makes sence to me.

“Why that there is a Telefunken U-47.”
Joe Biden
It is to shoot over walls. Periscope built in.
Thank you all.
Very cool.
Good luck getting a concealed permit for that…
It looks like Ian from Forgotten Weapons.

Good luck concealing that! (-:
It’s a shoulder thing that goes up.
A Perisniper
That guy with the 19 inch chorizo could probably hide it in his pants.
I have one of those Mausers and they are heavy enough without that extra leverage. Can’t imagine holding that very steady.
If Obama went to the range.
“Telefunken U-47” Heh heh heh …
I like saying “Telefunken” – heh heh!
It makes me sound smot!
Invented for midget snipers.
Reach out and touch someone. It’s cool as ****
