Leftist Media Starting to Worry About “Precinct Strategy”

Vanity Fair

Embracing the “precinct strategy” promoted by Steve Bannon, the GOP is reportedly preparing to sow chaos in the 2022 election by creating an “army” of poll workers and Republican lawyers to challenge voters in Democratic precincts. According to recordings obtained by Politico, the Republican National Committee has been recruiting and training poll watchers to contest votes and building a network of party-friendly attorneys to help them. The operation has been cast by Republican officials as an effort to even out party imbalances among poll workers in urban centers like Detroit. But its true aims seem clear: to gum up the democratic process in Democratic areas and lay the foundation for results to be challenged in swing states like Michigan that were key to Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election. 1. I signed up to be a poll watcher in Green Bay. I was told that the three areas in Wisconsin where the focus will be is in Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay. They passed a sign-up sheet just before showing the 2000 Mules documentary. Four pages of names were filled up before the clip board made it to me and I was in the middle of the theater. That was a good motivator right there.

  2. It would be great if the establishment cruisercons weren’t recruiting Democrats and RINOS to run against Trump-backed candidates.

And frankly, to “gum up the democratic process in Democratic areas and lay the foundation for results to be challenged” never works out well for Republicans. It certainly seems like only Democrats ever benefit from delays, and challenges after the fact. Bush 2000 notwithstanding. But maybe it’ll be different this time.

To me, it’s like Republicans griping about that lunatic who was to run the DHS Board of Disinformation. They challenged the hell out of her and sent her packing, but guess what? There will still be a Board of Disinformation. But it’s being delayed, so there’s that.

When we are fighting desperate rear-guard actions against something that hundreds of people, if not thousands, should already be in prison for, it is too late. They bum-rushed the Overton Window in 2020, and there’s no pushing them back through it.

  3. If, and when conservatives take the helm, the first thing on the list is to organize the election process to include ONLY paper ballots that are NEVER converted to bits and bytes, counted by a balanced, open process.
    AGAIN. ONLY paper. NEVER converted.

  4. It doesn’t matter as long as they are using the Dominion counting machines that can be easily be re-programed to skew the counts. The last two elections gave results that were not statistically possible here in GA.

  5. I am Canadian and I agree with “Handsome Pristine Patriot”. I have worked municipal, provincial and federal elections in the last 8 years and all votes are paper and voters either have to show ID or their Voter Registration card. No poll worker is allowed to leave until all the ballots have been counted, tallied (with party election scrutineers) and the polls signed off.
This has “P’Oed” me and my fellow poll worker more times than not. In the last federal election, the 2 German Canadians were first to finish, then I and my teen-age co-worker and then we all had to wait another 2 hours for the 2 ditz queens to finish. Polls opened at 8:00 am, but we had to be there at 6:00 am to organize and then could not leave until 10:00 pm because of the ditzes! I get cranky when I do not have enough sleep or food in me!
