I only saw like 4 or 5 actual human beings in this process. Jelly Bellies are made by robots.
The Jelly Belly factory is like 20 minutes away from me, and the tours are really fun, with lots and lots of free samples. You could also buy “belly flops”, the candies that did not come out perfect. for about one-third of the cost.
One highlight I remember, they have a Reagan Mosiac, huge, made from jelly beans.
I could eat my weight in those. Same with M&Ms but I stopped eating them.
Loves me some Jelly Bellies. I stock up on Belly Flops at Grocery Outlet when they have them.
Stopped eating them, type 2.
I ate a lot of them when I was quitting smoking. Then a couple trips to the dentist to fill the cavities. They are good.
Drove by that facility a lot on my way to the coast to fish offshore. It’s just a stones throw away from the BUDWEISER BREWERY!
I used to love these, until my A1C numbers went nuts.
Now all the fun stuff is just a fond memory.
My fave flavors were Strawberry Daiquiri and Pina Colada and Black Licorice.
Darn! I was hoping it was chef wavy hands. Haven’t seen him here in a while.
Is he dieting?
Doesn’t it bother the Jelly Belly folks to see how much sugar that guy dumps on the floor when he’s scooping it into the drums? He’s got a MOUND in front of ALL of them.
Digging the stand mounted fans in the open contIner areas, too. Just the ticket if you want bug bits and particulates blown into your coating drums…
I DID like their dropping indexing flight chain for moving the bean molds out of the dumping zone. Not sure if the machine OEM is equally keen on folks seeing their probably proprietary idea tho, one of the reasons you don’t let cameras in Production areas in the FIRST place…
I do like the Jelly Belly plushie riding the Fanuc 410 palletizing robot at 7:38 tho. Closed container area so no harm, no foul and gave me some tooling ideas for my OWN palletizers besides…
I use to work in a candy factory. We had names for the rats. Candy maker dumped a pot of honey roasted peanuts onto the floor. No problem, he shoveled them back into the pot. Can get away with it with candy.
I was expecting to see Lucille Ball standing near a conveyor stuffing her mouth with the extras.
