Marco Rubio’s interventionist snuff porn – IOTW Report

Marco Rubio’s interventionist snuff porn

Patriot Retort: As someone whose friend had to flee Venezuela last year, I want very much for the Venezuelan people to rise up and oust Maduro.

But the operative phrase there is “for the Venezuelan people to rise up.”

The people of Venezuela voted for the mess they are in. And if they want out of it, it is up to them to get out of it.

Maduro is a monster. He is living the good life while his people starve to death.

And this weekend, his military attacked convoys with humanitarian aid and opened fire on his own people. It takes a special kind of evil to murder people who just want food.

But I am not a “use the US military for regime change in Venezuela” kind of gal.

In that respect, I agree with Kurt Schlichter:

@KurtSchlichter

I say no US intervention in Venezuela.
It’s not immoral – it never is to fight communists.
That’s simply because I don’t think it’s right to ask American men and women from Iowa to fight a war Venezuelans started by foolishly cavorting with socialists.
Free yourselves, dummies.

But clearly Marco Rubio doesn’t agree.

Yesterday on Twitter Marco decided it would be clever to post before/after pictures of dictators who were ousted thanks to American intervention.

I have to tell you, it was downright perverse.  MORE

  1. “But the operative phrase there is “for the Venezuelan people to rise up.””

Maybe it would be more accurate to say “for the unarmed and helpless Venezuelan people to rise up”

  2. Unless we can arm the citizenry they cannot win.
We could pay off the Venezuelan military.
Any military incursion we made there would be over within one or two two days, providing we send at least 10,000 men.
It would not only be a righteous thing to do for the people of Venezuela it would send all the Socialists and commies in the US over the edge.

  3. Where’s the United Nations in all this? Wasn’t it specifically created to help resolve such matters?

Oh wait – the UN Secretary-General has already appealed for calm and urged all actors to “lower tensions and pursue every effort to prevent further escalation” of the Venezuelan crisis.

I feel much better now that I know they’re doing all they can to fix the problem.

  4. I’m 65 years old.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t Venezuela go through this shit every couple of decades?
Haven’t they gone through this shit every couple of decades since Simon Bolivar determined that “… to serve the Revolution is to plow the sea …”?

It may be a “hispanic-azteca-mayan” thing.

  5. Marco is the Hispanic McCain. Never met a war he wouldn’t support.
I don’t know how he keeps getting re-elected. Gang of Eight sneaky amnesty bill he tried to push thru cratered Canter, he was humiliated in the 2016 primaries, said he never run for Senate again, yet here he is, like a booger you can’t flick off.
He should leave and run for mayor of Miami, that’s the only county he carried in FL.

  6. Rubio provides even more proof of his mixed loyalties. He’s confused about who he’s supposed to represent, which are american citizens not Latin America. This is also why he’s with the open border full amnesty crowd.
Marco should go run for office in Cuba or another Latin country where his sympathies lie. They can craft him a miniature commandant’s uniform with all the garish ribbons and medals.

  7. I have the solution for the people of Venezuela.
Air drop millions of AR15s with twenty 30 round magazines into the countryside.
Use our covert information to determine the best places to drop, ensuring that the right people get most of the arms.
    Stand back and watch.
If the citizens don’t take up arms to fix the problem, let them stay under Maduro’s thumb.

  8. Handy W Agun,
The problem with that scenario is that all of our “intelligence” agencies are busy doing their utmost to undermine President Trump, so that America can become more like Venezuela.

  9. I agree with Schlichter. The Venezuelans willingly put the boot to their own neck. Let them get themselves out of it. If enough of the citizens do something like the “Arab Spring” the military can’t contain it even if the citizenry is unarmed. They can always steal the guns from the military deserters or those they kill. Let them solve their own problems. Maybe they’ll learn their lesson (doubtful) and not do this again.

  10. I’m not a fan of nation building (or destroying), but if the alternative is for them all to continue coming here in an endless wave of bullshit asylum-seekers, then maybe it should be considered.
