The People’s Cube reports that NASA is planning a manned mission to Mercury and have already selected one of their own for the flight.
Noted glaciologist and Antarctic ice expert , Jay Zwally will lead the effort to study the effects of climate change on the planet closest to the sun.
Dr. Zwally was reportedly handpicked by the President after his most recent published paper on the net gain of Antarctic ice.

I think Bill Nye would be a good back-up.
Of course, 0bama will suggest they go at night, so as to miss the worst of the heat.
DOH!!!11111
Will Carson Napier from Edgar Rice Burroughs Carson of Venus books be there to greet them? Yes, I admit to being a sci fi nerd since I read ERB’s Carson of Venus books as a kid.
Without reading any of the link, a manned mission to Mercury??? Isn’t the surface of the planet hotter then molten lead? And even if they don’t land the radiation from being so close to the sun would be fatal.
Is this a joke?
I think the Bill Nye suggestion is excellent.

Well that didn’t go as planned, but you get the idea…
“Climate change,” eh? Our CO2/smog REALLY must be getting out of control if it’s affecting Mercury.
They plan on going at night.
The disaster of climate change will start the moment a human lands on that rock. Until then, it’s perfect.
Let that be Obama’s presidential library!!! Perfect choice.
