Working on my computer, I listen to music. While reading the posts on iOTWr, sputtering and letting my blood pressure rise because of the idiocy of the left and GOPe (like I did a few days ago), this song started playing: I Don’t Care Anymore by Phil Collins from 1983.
The lyrics struck a chord in me – I don’t care anymore what you say.
Both Democrats and RINOs, along with all the Social Justice Warriors, Perpetually Offended, PC Police, Perversion Purveyors, and For-Your-Own-Good Busybodies, tell us we are racist, homophobic, haters, intolerant, stupid and all the other denigrations to make us cower because we fear being called those names.
You know what?
“I don’t care anymore. I don’t care what you say. We never played by the same rules anyway. I won’t be there anymore. Get out of my way. Let me by. I got better things to do with my time. I don’t care anymore. ‘Cause I remember all the times I tried so hard. And you laughed in my face ’cause you held all the cards. I don’t care anymore. And I really ain’t bothered what you think of me. ‘Cause all I want of you is just a let me be. I don’t care anymore, d’you hear? I don’t care no more. I don’t care what you say. I never did believe you much anyway.”
I Don’t Care Anymore
By Phil Collins
Well you can tell everyone I’m a down disgrace
Drag my name all over the place.
I don’t care anymore.
You can tell everybody ’bout the state I’m in
You won’t catch me crying ’cause I just can’t win.
I don’t care anymore I don’t care anymore
I don’t care what you say
I don’t play the same games you play.
‘Cause I’ve been talking to the people that you call your friends
And it seems to me there’s a means to and end.
They don’t care anymore.
And as for me I can sit here and bide my time
I got nothing to lose if I speak my mind.
I don’t care anymore I don’t care no more
I don’t care what you say
We never played by the same rules anyway.
I won’t be there anymore
Get out of my way
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don’t care anymore I don’t care anymore
I don’t care anymore I don’t care anymore
Well, I don’t care now what you say
‘Cause every day I’m feeling fine with myself
And I don’t care now what you say
Hey I’ll do alright by myself
‘Cause I know.
‘Cause I remember all the times I tried so hard
And you laughed in my face ’cause you held all the cards.
I don’t care anymore.
And I really ain’t bothered what you think of me
‘Cause all I want of you is just a let me be.
I don’t care anymore d’you hear? I don’t care no more
I don’t care what you say
I never did believe you much anyway.
I won’t be there no more
So get out of my way.
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don’t care anymore
D’you hear? I don’t care anymore
I don’t care no more
You listening? I don’t care no more
No more!
You know I don’t care no more!
One more time!!!
Yes!
I have found that apathy gets certain people more angry than disagreeing with them. Which I also don’t care about.
That is a pretty good choice. So, is Phil a lib? That would make a difference to me.
Not entirely sure. But about a year ago he donated his years-long collection of documents from the Alamo to Texas. He said he enjoyed the collection but that it belongs in Texas.
Whatever…

@Claudia Spot on!
@Joe6pak I couldn’t find my post in the iotw way back machine that I did about Phil Collins and his love of American history. Particularly, the Alamo. He was just made an “honorary Texan.”
So, if he’s a lib it’s likely very diluted.

I gave up caring about how the left thought of me long before I was old enough to know what the left was.
I was raised to recognize them for what they are.
As my grandpa would say “That fool is hung like a professor and smart as a horse”
These idiots have been around for over 100 years. Our parents and grandparents dealt with them effectively.
Seems most of us have forgotten how to.
I have been accused of being cynical many times over the last 12 years. Guess what? I’m not alone. Here’s another tune for us.
“Won’t get fooled again.”
S’cuse me, I got dishes to wash because the the DW took a sh*t.
So, Claudia, where ya been? /sarc
My skin has definitely grown thicker, especially these last six-seven years. I think it took on a kevlar quality during the Wisconsin drum circles. Great choice for an anthem.
As an exclusive heavy metalist I have very much been enjoying Trump using We’re Not Gonna Take It.

Like it all. I’m also reminded of a song by the ska band Reel Big Fish (got the CD here somewhere) where the chorus line goes “I Don’t F***ing Care, I Don’t F***ing Care, I Don’t F***ing Care, ANYMORE!!!!”. So ap-pro-po!!! ;^)
We need to make the left care about what people think of THEM.
I once explained my views on what Rights are to someone and his first reaction was, That’s what YOU think Rights are but how would you ever convince someone on the left? To which I said, How did the revolutionary era Americans explain Rights to the king of England?
After a while talk is cheap… and continued talk is even dangerous.
I like it, but this one fits my mindset a tad better:
I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord
And I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord
Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord
Well if you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand
I’ve seen your face before my friend, but I don’t know if you know who I am
Well I was there and I saw what you did, I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you’ve been
It’s all been a pack of lies
And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord
Well I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord
I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord
Well I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord
Well I remember, I remember, don’t worry, how could I ever forget
It’s the first time, the last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep your silence up, oh no you don’t fool me
Well the hurt doesn’t show, but the pain still grows
It’s no stranger to you and me
I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord
Well been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord
I can feel it in the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord
Well I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord
I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord
And I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord
I can feel it in the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord
Well I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord
I can feel it in the air tonight, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord
Well I’ve been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh Lord, oh Lord, oh Lord
I just finished reading the article that Dr. Tar posted about at: “Fighting The Left’s Propaganda” (https://iotwreport.com/fighting-the-lefts-propaganda/) that fits this perfectly.
Oh, YES! Don’t you really feel like it’s coming soon? Someone is going to spill the beans –
“Well I was there and I saw what you did, I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you’ve been
It’s all been a pack of lies”
I hope I’m still alive to see it!
I’ve not cared for quite some time. I even think that my work has suffered some because of my mouth. I don’t get the plum assignments like I used to. I try to be diplomatic but some people just don’t like being challenged to back up their talking points with actual facts.
I LOVE IT!
Fur’s dream has come true! For once, we are the cool kids on social media.
I love Reel Big Fish!
My brother just saw them in Louisville last night, wish I were there.
As for me, I’m Hiding In My Headphones…
while Everyone Else Is An Asshole!
phil has several very good songs.
I like whatever sounds good.
There’s some particularly good Linkin Park songs for when you’re feeling moody.
Classical? some. Jazz? Sure! Rap? some, sure. Country? You bet! Techno? some. Heavy metal? definitely. classic rock? Yep. Pop? some. What about ENYA? One or 2 songs, maybe.
What about grunge? You bet, that’s what I heard during the entirety of my college years.
Hair bands? Def Leppard takes me back to high school EVERY TIME, man.
Whatever sounds good and fits the mood. Youtube is great for finding new stuff.
There’s crap in every style too.
Try this on for size. Orchestral Metal.

Hi Claudia, great post. I’m really busy with business right now but I just submitted a good post on Trump and Cruz. Hopefully it will show up and not be lost in spam hell.
Looking for a Navajo Joe to take care of business in D.C. and my primal screams at the ruling class are summed up in:

and the calm down is Great Gig in the Sky.
For a long time I thought The Whos’ “We’re Not Gonna Take It” from Tommy was a good choice.
“We forsake you. Gonna rape you. Let’s forget you better still.”
I also think Cakes’ “Comfort Eagle” is the most appropriate tune for the Obola administration.
Perfect.

Awesome. TY Other.
Claudia, there are many forms of rejuvenating therapy.
I would prescribe something powerful and plentiful for your condition.
Start with 200-300 rounds of .308 at your local range. Or until your shoulder says its had enough.
They give a good solid thump even through ear muffs.
I promise you’ll feel much better when that special target you’ve either picked out or drew yourself is shredded.
Use a heavy rifle with a soft cushioned butt to lessen the recoil.
I’d take you myself and supply all the ingredients if I were in your neighborhood.
Awww, thanks for the thought!
I enjoyed that. Thanks.
I remember that now, OK I’m on board.
Doesn’t the lead singer have an awesome singing voice? Just cuts right through you.
I like contrasts, and this song just has it all across the board.
Claudia, good post. I listened to Collins, then to Bob’s video. I still come back to Yes, Close to the Edge, “I get up, I get down.” No one could touch the pristine quality of Jon Anderson’s voice. Collins, however, wears well. Still love those songs.
“I Don’t Care Anymore” is very right now, but I can tell you already that my theme song for next year is “Burn It Down.”
