Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom of California has been one of the strictest governors when it comes to lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic. California’s economy has been shackled by Newsom’s leadership for months, though on Monday, Newsom relented somewhat, suddenly lifting his state’s stay-at-home order.
“All counties will return to the colored tier system that assigns local risk levels based on case numbers and rates of positive test results for coronavirus infections,” the Los Angeles Times reported this week.
But the move comes amid questions about how transparent Newsom was being with crucial virus data.
Late last year, Newsom began only looking at data regarding ICU capacity when determining if regions of the state should be in lockdown.
“Rather than a county-by-county approach, he created five regions and established a single measurement — ICU capacity — as the determination for whether a region was placed under a stay-at-home order. In short order, four regions — about 98% of the state’s population — were under the restrictions after their capacity fell below the 15% threshold,” The Associated Press reported Jan. 22. read more

Didn’t listen to Newsom, I do as I please. I traveled wherever I wanted to, I shopped where I wanted to, I lived life and listened to no one. People have relaxed as well, haven’t met any Karen’s lately. I’d say that most everyone I encountered were doing what I was doing – living. Eaen some of the restaurants around thumbed their noses at Recall Newsom.

And many Californians have had other diseases progress to the point of no return because they could not get treatment or even a diagnosis, but now that you have opened things up, all is forgiven.”
Sad part is that will probably be what many Californians say.
Covid hasn’t effect my life style one bit. I’m in the gym 6 days a week and travel where we won’t. The only impact is wearing a mask through the entrance of a store, and then taking it off. Like 70% of the rest of the shoppers.

Governor Hair Gel Newscum is a completely incompetent. From purchasing masks at high cost from China to not following his own rules, (dining with large group at The French Laundry) closing beaches, opening beaches but keeping parking lots closed, closing restaurants, opening restaurants,closings restaurants, curfew, don’t travel, allowing Hollyweird to have large dining by set,…..RECALL NEEDED
@Brad: I don’t really deal with too many people during my day. I go out of my way to avoid having a conversation with anyone. Even making eye contact takes too much effort on my part. It’s been a different world this past year and I don’t see any changes coming other than it getting worse. Not covid worse, but the strong hand of government. Our Sheriff isn’t going along with Newsom’s program and told Newsom so. I got that going for me. 🙂
Newsome instituted severe lockdowns so people couldn’t easily circulate recall petitions. Then when he realized that was futile he opened the state so the negative impact would be reduced and people might be a little less likely to sign a petition. He’s a scum.
